When you don't need it it's always there sometimes getting in your way

But when you need it, it mysteriously disappears. When husband and I went to Scotland, I made a checklist of what we needed to take. I have a habit of putting small things in the same place so I know where to find them. But on the day of our trip, my phone charger was not in its usual place. Strange because I never unplugged it and why wasn't it there? I was really upset because I preferred my phone to take photos as it's got 8MP camera and 8G external memory and that day my phone battery had only got 1 bar left and we were staying in Edinburgh for 3 days. Good thing there's the old digicam. Anyway, when we got back home, the stupid charger was there in the drawer of the dresser. I swear I checked it several times.

I have similar situations happen to me all the time, but it's usually in relation to items in the fridge! I swear there's a parallel universe vortex in my fridge and it sucks things away into another dimension, only to return them when my Wife goes and looks for the exact same thing!

Maybe these items are also shape shifters? One minute they're a bottle of sauce, the next they're something different..... Either way, they STILL always change back to their original form the second my Wife goes and checks! It's a conspiracy I reckon!

Ha! Ha! Maybe you too have got some leprechauns in the house like Scarlet. Sometimes it's difficult to find an item if you don't know how exactly it looks like.

That is frustrating, isn't it? I have nightmares about packing whenever I'm getting closer to a trip :-D I worry about things just like that. My camera charger is SO important that I bring 2 with me!!! Anyway, I've taught myself to start packing EARLY and I have the checklist deal to. If there's anything I need right now that can't be packed yet, I'll keep that kind of stuff on a central location until the trip :) I worry mostly about not having spare contacts though. One time on high school trip to NY, before I had disposables, my contacts were irritating me to no end but I had no glasses with me nor any other contacts :( Luckily my new doctor told me I need disposibles so now I can bring a dozen extras if I wanted.

It is really nightmarish. Packing early and a checklist is sure the best things to do. It's absolutely awful to get to your destination and find out you don't have one of the basic things you need/want to enjoy the trip or whatever.

I know the feeling, that happens to me all the time, and usually when I really need something, that's when it disappears. I hope you had a nice time in Scotland otherwise.

Despite the mysterious disappearance of the charger, I did have a great time. Edinburgh is a lovely place. I'd definitely love to go back. But to be honest, I couldn't take off my mind how in the world did it disappear.

I have an international adapter which I bought on one of my trips to UK from Italy and I leave it permanently in the bag I usually take when I go along with other things that I don't use here. Just like you, I had seen it there many times but when it was time to leave I just couldn't find it and I left without it and bought a new one at the airport. When I arrived home it was right there in the spot the bag was. I can't remember removing it from the bage EVER except once I land in UK so goodness how it managed to get out but still be there when I got back home

Must be an elf who done it. Drives you nut eh? Anyway, in my case, as it turned out I saw the charger a couple of times when I was looking for it. But I just didn't recognize it. (silly me!) I thought I knew how it looked like so I refused to believe it WAS the one I was looking for.

That kind of thing happens to me all the time, and I hate it. Probably the best way to find something you've lost is to go out and buy a new one to replace the lost item. Then you find the old one, have two, don't need two, and are sorry to have spent the money. LOL I really hate when that happens.

Sometimes it makes me think "Is this really normal or I'm just disorganize?" But even with things you can't have control like the weather. When you want to do something outside it rains. When you want the rain for the plants, it doesn't rain. That kind of thing.

We make that kind of mistakes from time to time. In fact we usually do something and forget it right away. But life is like this, not everything is perfect so that there are always something missing and therefore there is always something to expect later on. This time, you use your good old digicam. Next time, you can bring your phone, fully charged to Edinburgh again and take pictures on all the good view.

You are right. We need all the mistakes we can make towards perfection. It's an integral part of our growth--life in general. Fully charge my phone before leaving--I will make sure of that.
