Feeling a little bit Shy...?

In person, i have always been very shy. Mainly in school, i must add. I have a group of friends that i am very loud around because i trust them and they know me inside and out. Other than that, i have been shy growing up. I would rarely contribute to class discussions, and if there was someone louder than me i would always easily let them take control and talk and i would stay out of the conversation. Did anyone else do this? Online however, I find that I am a lot more confident. I can talk freely to people mostly and enjoy having in-depth conversations with people and am happy mostly to talk about any subject that might occur. Has anyone else found themselves also being like this? What is the reason for this, if there is any? I think now i am feeling a lot more confident at talking generally and recently was in a group sitution where i contributed nearly every week, but it was a group of adults, does age make a difference? And does MY ages make a difference? Is shyness something we grow out of, a childhood faze? Or is it something we are stuck with for life, unless we chose to do something about it? Would be interested to hear others thought, oppinions and experiences on this matter!

Hello, I am not shy but I just dont really talk loud. I always let other talk before I talk, if I see them have a lot to say then go for it. On the internet, then I can talk whatever I like and feel free and confident too.

ahh ok, so there is definatly a difference between talking in person and on the internet then. And yeah i get what you mean, i supose in many ways i just like to listen to people. Hear their oppinion on things, and then form my own views to myself first before discussing these with others. Thanks for the comment, much appreciated and its good to know that others have similar situations and its not just me!
