Are you superstitious?

Do you avoid walking under ladders or near black cats? Do you believe in "omens" or horoscopes or anything? I'm not totally into it, but I do like reading my horoscope once in a while. I do believe in bad luck, and avoid the things that tend to bring it. For example if I ever tell anyone I'm planning to do something, then something just comes up and I don't do it. So if there's something I really want to do, I just don't tell anyone about it. xD

I can't answer that question with a yes but there is one thing that I do not do... I don't sign my name in red pen. It is something my grandfather never did and it carried over to me I guess (red means debt). Great question Thanks Zelo

that's funny - some of those things are bad habits from when I was a kid and I really was superstitious. Breaking mirrors, walking under ladders, black cats, etc. but now, the walking under a ladder thing isn't from superstition, it's from safety. You just don't walk under ladders, or elevated objects unless you want something to come crashing down on your head! And I have a black cat, so I hope it's not bad luck when one crosses your path!

Im not superstitious at all. I love black cats, I have walked under ladders, opened umbrellas in the house, hmmmm nothing really makes me think ohhh if I do this I'm going to have bad luck. I even got married on Friday the 13th. LOL! It was a great day and we are still together. We met when he was 14 and I was 16, got married 2 years later and have been married for 25 years. We still love each other so for me I would say that makes it a good day! I don't read my horoscope or anything. I have gone to a palm reader basically for fun thou and it was interesting. So nope Im not superstitious in the least.

Im a sort of superstitious person and I love it. I think it brings a bit of excitment into your life. I love checking my daily horoscope and using my starsign lucky numbers to do the lottery, even though I haven't actually won anything yet lol. Black cats don't annoy me, but i will never put new shoes on the table or drive back to the house because I've forgotten something. My mother's very superstitious also and if she accidently puts her t shirt on back to front she will wear it like that the whole day as she believes its abd luck to change it.

I guess I'm a little superstitious. I mean, I'm not afraid of black cats and could really care less if a black cat crosses my path. I see nothing wrong with it. However, I avoid at all costs walking underneath ladders. They just make me uncomfortable. It's probably the only thing that I really avoid.

I do believe in bad luck, but I don't believe in things like cats or ladders or mirrors cause bad luck. I can see that walking under a ladder might be dangerous because something could fall on you, but other than that. I also know why breaking a mirror was thought to bring bad luck, because mirrors were expensive and hard to make and I'm sure the rumor started to keep people from breaking them, besides, if you broke one, will that was very bad luck to begin with... Interesting, not telling folks if you want to do something - that could work, except that I do so little that if I'm planning on doing something, I pretty much will do it and nothing comes up I don't just push aside to do what I wanted to do.

hi megumiart,i used to belive that before.black cats, walking under ladder, horoscopes, friday the 13th(bad day),almost everything.but as get closer to god and know his principles and writings in the bible, all those beliefs(superstitious) are all gone and i never believe it now.we just have to believe in ourselves and pray a lot everything will be alright regardless of all those bad luck and bad things that happens.nobody can really tell whats ahead of us or what really is our future.sometimes i came to a point of thinking that all those beliefs just scares us.. :) good day!

I am used to it because I grow with that kind of belief in my grandparents. There is no wrong of it, nothing will change if I just adopt but I can also find out thats its alright so far so good and nice. Not all things ,but I believe lightly , I know God is powerful than all these things. Just adaptive to the traditions.

I am not a supertitious person but in some scenarios such as watching Cricket i become quite a supertitious person. I always sit at corner of a room. By sitting there i feel Indian team will always win. Sometimes it works and sometimes it fails.

Sort of. I believe some that I think has a possibility to be true and refuse those I think that doesn't have. cause there are others that are just so exaggerated and to good to be true. What about you?Do you believe those stuff?

No I don't. Heard them all but it would be a bit of bad luck if the window cleaner dropped his wet cloth on a passer by. I refuse to be emoptionally held back by superstition.

No, I'm not superstitious. I don't think that there's anything wrong with being superstitious. It's just that I'm not one of those people, who is superstitious and avoids walking under ladders, walking near black cats, or anything like that. It's just not the type of person that I am really.

I'm a little bit, not crazy for that, I like to hear the fortune thing, like if I'm going to play cards today, I like to see my fortune today, I od't completely depends on what it says, just take a look ;-)

I not really superstitious, but I won't walk under ladders or open an umbrella indoors. I sometimes read my horo-scope to see what it says, but thats rarely. I also believe in Bad Luck as well, I seem to get lots of that! x
