Why Cannot Obama Supporter Answer Questions Here On MyLot?

When asked a question here on MyLot I answer the question, you my not like the answer I give you, but I did answer it. When one ask an Obama supporter a question about either about Obama, how you would fix something, and/or why they support what they support, they dodge the original question by asking you another question. Yes I will answer your question but at some point you can answer mine.

I have no clue how I'd fix things in this country, which is exactly why I am not a critic of Obama. I don't know that I'm a "supporter" either but I'll take a shot at your question. Perhaps some Obama supporters don't answer the questions because they know that no matter what their reply is, some narrow minded* Obama critic will just shoot down their idea whether or not it has an merit. Or perhaps they don't have an "answer" either. I haven't been impressed by any of Obama's critics "answers" either. Sometimes there are no easy fixes. Sometimes, unfortunately, we have to try to fix things by trial an error. * not calling YOU narrow minded or saying that all of his critics are narrow minded, just that SOME of his critics are.

I am not necessarily an Obama "supporter", but it has been hard not to slap down some of the ridiculous things being said by Obama opponents. I have found that those who oppose Obama chose to ignore the answers from supporters. The answers are there, but a closed mind will not let them in. Also, sometimes one has to ask a question in a different way or pose a question to understand the mindset of another. It is therefore common in debate dialogue to answer a question with a question. All you can do is counter with intelligent banter, or, if the debater is too close-minded, walk away.

If I asked you what is the color of the sky, and you responded by asking me what is the color of grass, that is not an answer.

I think healthcliff is right. It is worthless to try to make others realize what you want to say, when they just close their mind. So, if the debater is close minded, you will always get negative sort of response, whatever you say good or bad. So its better to walk away....

Miss manners says that politics is bad dinner conversation for a reason. People always get upset and are blinded by what they honestly think is right. I'm not saying its right or wrong either way. I personally am an Obama supporter, but at the same time I have some misgiving about the things he's doing. I'm just saying that there are some topics that just automatically come with raised hackles and defensive manners and its best to probably avoid them in a friendly forum.

It seems to me that people don't know how to debate issues anymore or how to have discussions with others who do not have the exact same point of view that they have. Pay attention to the way commentators talk on television. Whenever someone brings up a point of view that is not the 'approved' one rather than addressing the various points of contention they simpy dismiss the other person as a conspiracy theorist or a racist or a Christian conservative. We solve nothing by condemning those who do not agree with us and we,in turn, condemn ourselves to shallow, narrow thinking.

Most people wont want to get into any type of political discussion since they dont want to get reported or kicked off of my lot ya know ;), I honestly dont know what to think of the new president . I think either way we go the country seems to be in trouble and there honestly isnt any way to fix it other than to just buckle down and dont buy that big screen you think you need , stop sending our jobs out cause its cheaper and if you still want to outsource our jobs then dont complain that so many people are living off the government, ok yea im a lil bitter im a steelworkers wife who is waiting for them to figure out just what the heck they are goin to do lol, oh well its just part of life I guess , I think the only thing that I did well for my family was that I never raised my kids to expect a whole toy store for christmas ( they only get 5 and they know that 1 will be an outfit lol) and when I heard rumors of layoffs at other steelmills I did what I could to stock up on food and pay down as much debt as I could but it still dont seem to be enough , but I havent gone insane yet so hmm thats good right ;) hope this helps with your ? right now im as confused as ever but not cause of your ? LOL ~M~

I agree that everyone should answer the topic at hand first before asking a question themselves. I guess they do not want to take the chance of a debate so they turn it all around on you instead.

Honestly, I haven't seen much of that going on, whenever someone asks me a question, i do try to answer it to the best of my ability, sometimes especially with political issues, an answer cannot be so straightforward, a lot of times it takes explaining and maybe you don't see their answer.....and a lot of times the things on here about Obama are out-there....people do the same things on the other side of the fence

Maybe it depends on your question, and how well you respond to their response. Maybe they are trying to point out that if you are critiquing Obama, you should also look at what someone else did, before judging him.

The 0bamunistas cannot answer your questions because they have no way of justifying the things that he is doing. He campaigned against Bush, although Bush was not running, and his plank was rhetoric of Hope and Change. Is the economy better now then when Bush was in office... no, it is much worse. Deficit spending has skyrocketed, and the Deceiver's policies will eventually destroy us. His supporters know his, and that is why they cannot answer you.

Gew, I have asked you many questions, you don't come within a mile of answering them. Who are you trying to fool on here? Look at someone of your responses, and just responded to one of your responses and you didn't even try to respond. I answered you questions, but you weren't even in the ball park for mine, so maybe you should look at your responses before you start to question everyone elses.

Debater I've seen you hide from discussions where you can't defend your messiah. You're one of the many democrats who supported Obama without question and have no objection to his support of voter intimidation by the black panthers.

Taskr, you are incorrect. I just recently called Obama out on his lack of action when it came to oil prices. I do not support Obama on every subject, but I do point out when republicans, like yourself, want to blame him for everything when your God, cause much of the mess we have today. Remember, it took 5 years for republicans to stop blaming Clinton for everything, and Bush screwed this country up much worse than Clinton did. That is not defending Obama, that is point out a fact. There is a difference.

If some one dared to answer the questions about supporting Obama, it will lead totally into a full never ending argument.and besides, it's kinda not allowed in this site because it might cause violent fight adding with some curse names
