Well I have seen this movie recently and I got some doubts with the way it ended..Why is Jack Nicholson shown upon the ending on the picture taken a long time ago ??

Have any of you read the book of The Shinning by Stephen King? Just wonder if you prefer the film or the book?

I've watched this film many times and come up with a different reason each time. Sometimes I think he is a ghost sometimes I think he's been possesed and took on that person physical features, or that it's his father in the photo. I find the film as a whole a bit 'odd'. At times I think it's about his descent in to madness, sometimes I think he hallucinated it all, other times I think he's a ghost, others he possessed or that he time travelled without knowing it. It's bizzare my ideas but I find the film on that level quite complex as there are many things that it could be. It's not just a straight forward haunting. Read the book as it is better then the film and there are many differences which help to explain a few things.
