How many times does your dog shed in a year?

My puppy has shedded once already in the early spring and he has been shedding like crazy again, hairballs in every corner in the house, no matter how many times I comb him each day, hair is still falling off... I wonder if he will shed again before the fall.

My wolfdogs shed a little all year long. Right now though we're going through the big fur fall. They're shedding their winter coats & it's enough to make a coat from. I have a bag full ready to be spun ( their undercoat is as soft as wool ).

I have a shih tzu and thankfully he does not shed at all. Growing up we had a collie that seem to shed all year round. You would have to constantly vacuum the rugs.

I have a Bichon that doesn't shed either. I bred Keeshond and they blew there fur twice a year. It was a 3 week process!

I have a mixed breed dog and it seems like she is always shedding fur everywhere. I think that she is shedding year round. I have to sweep daily ( sometimes more than once) to keep up with it. Still even with all the sweping there are still bits of hair here and there. It doesn't seem to matter how much we brush her she still sheds. I dread wearing black clothing as there is usually dog hair on it. We go through a ton of the sticky lint roller sheets.

My hubby needs to use that everyday before work because hair is all over his pants especially when he is shedding right now.

Yea... I know exactly what you mean! What my puppy is shedding, I need to cover the food carefully in the kitchen, otherwise, they get lots of hair.

Hi mermaidivy, Well we live in a hot climate and my 3 german shepherds shed all year long . In the spring my male , who has thicker hair then the other two has a total blow out ! He is still going through it now . I comb him every day and I'm sure it helps some , but geez the hair !!!! Sometimes I tell him I'm gonna shave him .. but I would neve do it . I'm glad we have tile instead of carpet. I sweep and mop at least once a day and use a dust mop in the evening because of hair

When he is shedding, I need to comb him outside everyday too, hair just flying everywhere outside! And he likes to play with the hairball, chokes himself sometimes :-p
