Forbes Magazine Names Angelina Jolia More Powerful than Oprah

Ok I don't understand how this happened. LOL LOL LOL - There is no way that Angelina is more powerful than Oprah. Oprah has her own talk show, magazine, girls school in Africa. She will have I believe her own network come next year. Plus she made 275 million last year. Angelina has a acting career, married to Brad Pit with 6 kids and she made 27 million last year. Also when Oprah speaks people listen. So in my eyes Forbes magazine is totally wrong Angelina is not more powerful than Oprah by no means! What do you think?

From my personal experience, Angelina Joli is really more powerful than Oprah in terms of international influence. Angelina is well-recogonized across many countries and regions, where the popularity of Oprah could be a question.The problem is that even they're bothing making cultural products, films go much futher than TV shows. Of course the financial status is a big deal, but they are mainly celebrities, to which extent they're exposed to public is what they care about. Besides, Angelina plays several roles in international charity business which could help to further her social networkings.

Sorry I still don't see it. Angelina international influence?? She has adopted a bunch of kids. Yes she has done some charity work for certain countries but what actor or actress hasn't. When Oprah comes calling people drop what they are doing to get on her show. Also I think 275 million dollars has alot more power than 27 million. Angelina is more known for adopting kids plus stealing Brad from Jennifer than anything else. Where is the power in all that. Oprah is a class act. The panel at Forbes must have been a bunch of men!!!

I admit that Oprah is a great woman and she's done a great job in her talk show that influences many people deeply. But the case is her programs are seldom broadcasted outside North America, while a film could be sold around the world, be watched again and again, winning actors and actresses much more exposure to publics. For Oprah, at least in Europe and Asia where I used to live, people hardly get to know her name because her cultural products are not available there, no matter how wonderful it could be. Forbes is a business magzine that not only bases the judgement on personality, but need to take into consideration the impact on INTERNATIONAL market. So it could be more clear if you look at data of the earning compositions of the two respectively. Oprah could be the queen in United States, while Angelina gains more from outside.

I can see this happening, isn't Angelina and Embassador of sorts, I see this, she does alot, Oprah is great in her own right, but Angelina travels alot and is known to many, this is not taking anything from Oprah but lets give Angelina some credit this woman is doing alot for people.

Yes but who doesn't know Oprah? Also Oprah has been around for alot more years then Angelina. I seriously think it was a bunch of men at Forbes voting and that is how this happened. Thank you for responding.

I know what you mean, but Angelina is great as well, her and brad do so much for people, Yes Oprah does alot but there is a chance Angelina does a little more, there is nothing wrong with this, both these woman do great things,I respect them both.

Well, we do not really know what are the criteria for one personality to be named as the Most Powerful. Oprah may have the shows, earned more than 200 million. Perhaps, it was Angelina Jolie's participation as UN Ambassador for Refugees that made her the Most Powerful by Forbes Magazine.
