Do you recognize the sound of people's cars? I'm talking about your husband, your wife, your significant other, your neighbor, or whoever's car that you might here when they arrive home. Do you recognize it when they pull up the street? Or when they pull in the driveway? If someone pulls in your driveway, do you know who it is right away by the sound of their engine?

I can never recognise the sound of my boyfriends care when he arrives home. I think this is partly because we have on the street parking and live on a busy main road. Therefore at certain times it can be very noisy and there's always cars coming and going so it's very rare to hear one car park up with no cars driving past. Rather strangly though our dog hears him parking up and if he's not already at the door he runs over excitedly. He's like a little alarm!

Aw, that is so cute. I am glad to hear that your dog recognizes him when he is home. Dogs are great like that aren't they. Thank you for your response in this discussion, and have a wonderful day today!

It's cute only some of the time. Our dog has the most acute hearing and at times will bark at anything. It's very annoying if your having a lie in at weekends, are on the phone or watching a movie for instance. Although it's very comforting when your in the house on your own at night as you do feel a sense of protection.

Yup. Stuff like that tends to stick with me. My dad's truck is the easiest. It doesn't have a muffler, so it sounds like someone coughing up mucus.

That is so funny. I have never thought of a vehicle as sounding like that. However, I do know that when the exhaust is missing, that they are a whole lot louder. If my truck just gets a hole in the exhaust, it gets louder. I am always afraid that the whole thing might have fallen off or something. Then I discover it just has a hole in it. Either way, you still have to get a new muffler. :) Thanks for your response and have a beautiful day!

I used to know my neighbor's truck. It was a diesel, plus his driveway was on the same side of my house as my bedroom. He would leave for work early in the morning. If I heard a vehicle, I would just listen for the diesel sound. If I heard that, I knew it was just him getting ready to leave for work. Thank you for your response here in this discussion. I hope you have a great day on myLot!
