hi there my lotters i was wondering if there was anyone else on mylot that suffers with ankylosing spondilitis too? for you people who dont know what it is, its a disease thats often misdiagnosed as arthritis, that attacks the spine. it fuses together the whole spine eventually and degrades the sides of each bone in the spine. its a very painful disease. mine is very aggressive to the point where im on morphine 3 times a day as well as tramal etc. i was wondering if anyone else had it that was slightly older and more progressed so i know what to expect. ive researched etc but would like to hear from people that have it not people who have read text books like most drs. lol. i know their doing their jobs but im a big beleiver of real time experience. thankyou all and i look forward to hearing all your responses

I have a friend who has it but i'm not around him much. he lives in ga. & i live in tennessee. he has had it a long time. he will be 65 in aug. he says he is in constant pain but still tries to work. i believe u must be worse off than him. he will not take the pain pills they give him which i think is stupid. they give him oxycodone he said. i believe if he hurt too bad he would. i take pain meds every day to go. i'm sorry u are in such bad health. take care of yourself.

I have a form of ankylosing spondylitis called SAPHO Syndrome. Synovitis Acne Pustulosis Hyperostosis Osteomyelitis I am on Sulfasalazine. I am not getting much relief. I use VOltaren Gel and tramadol. I am hoping to get put on a biologic and or bisphosphate therapy at my recheck in October. I've heard from others on spondylitis.org that they have good relief once they get on the correct therapies. It is the waiting game that sucks!
