Hi friends, Here is the case. I have a laptop and it's pretty old. Some of my keys on the keyboard are not functioning. What i do is, after logging into the windows xp, i use onscreen keyboard to fill that deficiency, however yesterday i put a password to the system to prevent my kids. My bad luck is, one of the letter in the password is same as the faulty key on the keyboard. So i cannot log into the system. Though i don't want replace the keyboard right now, is there anyway to activate onscreen keyboard to be presented on the log on screen as it happens with windows vista ?

After some thinking I think I have an acceptable and easy work around to your laptop. You said this is an old laptop right? Do you have another PC or another PC keyboard just lying around? If so then you can just hook the keyboard up to your laptop and type whatever you need from it. There should be a PS/2 connector on your laptop. Most Older laptops will have at least one... most have two of these. If you don't have a PS/2 port don't worry... I have a soulotion for that as well If the keyboard you have is USB or you do not have a PS/2 port your laptop should have at LEAST one USB port. If the keyboard is USB just simply plug in the keyboard to the USB slot. If the keyboard is PS/2... and all you have is a USB port.... you can buy an adapter for a few dollars... like 2-5$. This will allow you to use your PS/2 keyboard in your USB port... any of these combinations will bypass your onboard bad keyboard and should give you access to your system :))

Yes, that i did that y'day. I just used a extra keyboard and removed the password after logging on, however is there any way that onscreen keyboard should be attached to the log on screen, just like vista ? Anyway thanks for your idea you have shared..

It's possible in anywhere from old windows and new windows, but I forget how to do it because I saw it on my Windows System. There is found in Start Menu-Accessories-On-Screen keyboard if you already installing this things.
