What do you do when you have tough decisions to make?

Some people likes to flip the coins, take off the flower pieces, counting something, something like that. Do you do that when you have tough decisions to make too?

i'm a very serious person when it comes to making tough decisions. i can't just do coin flipping and leave it to chance. since i'm responsible for my decisions as well as actions, i need to own up for whatever i do. when i have to make a tough decision i would need some quiet time with myself to clear my mind off other things and concentrate on the matter at hand. i'll get a notepad and a pen and make two columns on the notepad... this will be for the advantages and disadvantages. i have to weigh out things always and make sense of my actions. then i'll call out somebody who can give me an objective opinion on the decision that i have made before i act on it. because i want some kind of reassurance that what i'm planning to do is the right and best thing to do given the circumstances.

I dont' think I would EVER flip a coin when making a tough decision. I actually try to think things through, and I usually make lists of the pros & cons of each decision - and I try to weigh out my options that way. It usually works.

Hello mermaidivy, Whenever I have tough decision about my personal life, I will just take a nap and wake up fresh, make a decision on what I should decide about the matter. Well, it is not all the times but if I can do that, I just want to rest my mind from thinking of the problem. If it is related to my office matter, I have no choice but to ask opinions and also to think carefully before I make the decision. I seldom use the methods like you mentioned above but maybe that's also a way to relax your mind before you come to the conclusion.

First I pray, then I call or email all my friends and run my ideas by them. Then I pray some more. When the time comes to make the decision I follow my instinct.

I don't do such a things like you wrote in order to make a tough confusing decisions. I use my left brain (logical) to deal with it. And if i still didn't get answers for it, i use my right brain (neutral) to hypnotize my self and go to the relaxations realms in order to choose whats the best to choose. Weird huh?..

I will think it properly and if not so comfortable with it, I will go to my trusted sister and brother ask some help and good decisions so that later I will not be lame at all. Weigh all those suggestions and choose the positive one that is really fair. I rather go with the flow of majority decisions than to have my own principles.

Hi mermaid...When I have tough decisions to make I talk about it with my husband and my parents. We don't usually write things down but I know that some people make lists and write down the pros and cons of doing something. We just talk it out. Sometimes it's helpful to get other points of view - sometimes it just makes things more confusing. And if something is truly personal maybe there is only one or two people who you would like to speak with regarding the decision. Good luck with it!

If I dont immediatley know what to do, or what I should do, I make a list of the Pros and Cons associated with the decision and decide from there, what is more important to me, what will make my life better or my familys lifes better (depending on the decision), what effect on my life this will make etc.

I go through the posistives and negatives and decide based on which set is more important to me. I'll also ask others for advice if I really need it. I usually get another person's opinion if I just can't decide for myself. I use a couple close friends who I trust will give me good advice.
