I was losing hair because of my birth control, then when that finally grew out I did a HUGE booboo with my chemical straightener product. Ugg, had to start all over. But, I did learn one very important lesson, my friend saw how really course my hair was and advised me to use shampoo on it less. I only shampoo about once a week now. I condition every day though because I have to at least get my hair wet and even that will strip it of it's natural oils sometimes. I do have to shower daily now, because I don't shampoo very often it is easier for my hair to collect 'smells' that sort of follow me around a bit. Ugg! Haha.

Haha, me too! I'm looking for hair perfume, I have never heard of it, but if someone invents a product to deodorize hair... I will be first in line for that stuff!

It is absolutely unadvisable to use shampoos daily as they cause hairfall and hair will loose its protein by applying shampoos regularly. Shampoos are made of chemicals and i am sure that it would create an adverse effect in our hair thus leading to the Hairfall. I wqould suggest to go on with natural herbal items such as Hibiscus, Lemon, berry etc.,

Everyone that I know uses shampoo every day, including me. I've never heard of it causing you to lose your hair - so I honestly don't know. For my hair to stay clean and look healthy, I have to wash it daily with shampoo.

I used to think that shampoo my hair everyday would hurt my hair. However, I just hate my hair being dirty, especially in this heavy polluted city, I started to shampoo my hair everyday lately, and surprisingly found that my hair quality improves and my hair becomes more healthy than before. I don't know why exactly my hair becomes better, but I think I will keep shampoo my hair everyday.

Well I don think its advisable to use shampoo on a daily basis, some people say u can use light shampoos which are less on chemicals but at the end of the day its not advisable to use em everyday. Its better to use natural ingredients like if u are in india Shika, Amla, Hibiscus leaf and many other things which u can grind and have it for ur hair. If u r havin a hair fall better consult ur doc if its sevre. There may be many other factors for ur hair fall, the water u use is also one major factor which can bring about hair fall. But strictly no to Shampoos which contain harmful chemicals on a daily basis

hi there jlovetin, it is good to shampoo our hair to make it clean. however there are also some hairstylist that says that shampooing everyday can make your hair dry, i think maybe because of the ingredients. sometimes i just use shampoo every other day to make my hair soft, but of course i use conditioner everyday. in your case, maybe you need to use another brand of shampoo. use a shampoo that is a hairfall solution.

I wash my hair everyday. I have the same problem like yours. I'm 30 and start losing my hair from years ago I didn't remember, long before I got married. It doesn't matter if I wash my hair daily or not, my hair are still falling. If I don't wash it, it becomes oily and it falls even more. I don't use any conditioner or gel. I don't think I need it because I have baby's hair, very thin and soft. I wish I could have thicker hair.

hi caesarin..... its good washing your hair every day.. use ordinary soap and wash.... main thing which you should care is proper drying of hair after your bath..otherwise it leads to hair fall.... so find time to do this.. hope this will be useful tip.. enjoy

I have never heard of the fact that shampoo will led to hair loss. I use a doctor precribed shampoo for my hair and this brand is quiet expensive and also of good quality... I shampoo my hair very often...And it helps to keep my hair clean, and it also led to less hair fall..Over sweating of the skin which is on your head may led to hair fall and I think shampooing regualrly stops it.In fact, hair fall is hereditary...

Actually I use shampoo everyday even though some hairstylists advised to use it only twice or thrice a week because it can irritate scalp and damage hair. I use shampoo everyday because of the dust and other pollution in the environment that may coat the strand of my hair and could damage my scalp. That's why I use shampoo everyday. But now I am rethinking it now, I try not to use shampoo daily and use conditioner instead.

I use shampoo every other day. The doctor says that using shampoo everyday will lose your hair. I don't want to get bald so I believe and follow what the doctor says. Anyways I just stayed at home so my hair won't get more dirt. But when I go out or travel, I shampoo my hair often.

hereditary traits can appear in the third generation and we are not even sure we know all the relatives we really have . heredity plays a lot in what happens to us. i shampoo twice a day but my hair is all intact. i know may people do this too and one beauty book even said that if you feel your hair is dirty, shampoo. dirty is never healthy and with the pollution in the air, even if we don't use styling products that is dirt already and i'm not sure that can be washed off by water since most shampoos have oil in them which attracts dirt. but doctors know things not meant to be comprehended by common people. so i say, the doctor would still be "your" authority.

Using shampoo every day wont cause you to lose your hair. But it isnt always the greatest thing for keeping your hair healthy. If you have been under a lot of stress, that can cause your hair to fall out. That is usually the biggest problem for most people. Find some ways to help reduce your stress and you will probably see that problem (and several others!) disappear.

i feel sorry for your case,,maybe if i continue using shampoo and other hair products every day,,i will suffer the way you are in near time..i can suggest you to use some herbal treatment for your hair,,there are really a lot of alternatives to use instead of those having a hazardous content..

Your hair loss is not due to your shampooing every day, but if using it less solves your problem, then go do that. If you still lose your hair, you should see a dermatologist or your general doctor, because it could be alopecia, or it could be a thyroid condition. My mom had hair loss and never went to a doctor about it, but she went for an annual checkup and her doctor found she had a slow thyroid. She went on medication and she was happy to lose weight, but she was even happier when all her hair grew back!!

hi jlovetin! ^^ i heard from some people too that we should not use shampoo everyday. but i think it depends on the person's scalp and hair. i mean for me, i have to shampoo everyday because i tend to get itchy scalp if i don't shampoo even for just a day. i have to clean my scalp everyday and i need shampoo to do it. but with using a conditioner, i do it every other day. but i'm not saying that my hair and scalp are okay. i have a hair fall problem and i don't know what to do with it. i don't think its from using shampoo everyday because before, i have tried using shampoo every other day. i use a shampoo and conditioner alternately. but during those times, i still have a hair problem. and its just frustrating.

I would think it depends on the shampoo you use. Some shampoo may be too harsh to the hair, some mild while some gentle. As long as the shampoo does not contain sodium lauryl sulfate, I do think it is fine.

I have washed my hair everyday before and find that it hasn't done anything to harm my hair. I would stop using the products you mentioned, except for conditioner because conditioner is like a moisturizing cream for the hair, as far as I understand it to be. I've never used anything too harsh in my hair, or rather, too often. I have used hair spray, mousee, have blown dried my hair, and have dyed my hair but now it's just shampoo, conditioner, and that's it!

In the early days people use aloevera for their hair. I think it's good because it's a herbal product. The good thing about it, is that it contains no chemicals that may harm our scalp. I think frequent shampoo and conditioner can damaged ones hair. That also includes gel.

Even I have the hair fall problem and I do wash my hair every alternate day. My friend has suggested me to apply olive oil and massage the hair for 1 hour and then wash it off. It worked on me, try if you like it. :) Have a nice day
