I use garlic, basil and pepper. I love the combination of flavors that these seem to bring to any dish. I love garlic and basil seems to offset it alittle and adds a great flavor. And what dish doesn't taste better with some pepper? So what is your favorite combination of flavors?

When I cook fish ,I usually add garlic and ginger to it so that may get rid of the smell of fish.

Yum celticeagle . . .that is until you got to the pepper . . Garlic and I basil . .what could be a better combo I love to grow herbs that I use pretty much everyday. Basil is a great one to grow. I also grow chamoille (great to take the flower and put it in a cup and breathe it in before sleep) thyme (like to cook with it), chives (to mix in cream cheese) ....and as it is the season to be outdoors I am growing away out there!

Yes, I like garlic and basil very much. The pepper is just a personal favorite of mine. I love growing herbs. Chamomille is lovely. I especially like lavender myself. Thyme is good on alot of things. Chives and parsley are really nutricious.

I think we need to use more ginger and garlic. Basil is good and I enjoy using it. Another one is bay leaves. Very nice to add taste to dishes. It isn't spicy though.

CE- I couok with a few on a regular basis. I cook with oregano, basil, ginger, curry powder, garlic, sage, and praprika all of the time. I put them in almost everything I cook. (Save the sweets of course!) I love the way they bring out the flavor of anything they are mixed with. I tend to marinate my meats, so those make a wonderful flavor and pull out the natural flavor of the meats I cook. I also add them to my veggies with a bit of olive oil. I tend to steam my veggies, so I just mix up the oil and herbs seperately and then drizzle the mixture in. Yummy! Namaste-Anora

I love to use basil, which I keep in pot, and add to salads. Outside we have an abundance of wild mint and sage so I use plenty of those too. Mint is good in water, potatoes and salads, and sage goes well in pork dishes or chicken stuffing. I would say apart from basil though my favourite has to be chilli as I love to add some spice to my food.
