Now,with technology running our life computers are really really helpful. You can get so many informations, entertainment and other stuff just by surfing the net.I gotta say computers make our lives easier and it saves alot of our time. On the other hand books are still pretty useful too because everything you need to find is detailedly written in it.The only problem with books is that it consumes alot of time before you find the answer that you needed. So for you guys, what do you think about the computers vs books thing?

I agree with you. When it comes in searching, internet is more reliable and easy to use than a book. However we may not stop using books.

I have read an article before that time will come books will gone as for the computer will replace. Don't favor with that. Children must enjoy reading books in their childhood days.

before books are really useful..but now computers are more efficient to use..is less time consuming and its very easy to use, just put the keyword in the search and engine and there results will be shown, unlike in books u need to go to the table of contents first b4 you fins something...i only advise using books when ur reading novels or stories because its hard reading in the computer for so long...

In some situations your right with the time consuming thing. But really, not all answers are found in the net.Though I often use the net for some projects,I also check the books if every detail I found in the net is true.

internet - blut internet symbol
For validated information I would definately go to a book. For my homework I've used the net a lot. There is a lot of stuff on the internet that isn't reliable at all. So when you're trying to get factual info., you're kinda taking a risk with how true it is. But the internet is really big, and it's crazy to think of how much of a role it has in our lives. I mean I would've never even thought of mylot if not for the internet.

Yes I agree with you. Computer has a very profound effect on our life. Now a days we can see computers in almost every part of our life. It has made our life much more easier. Now talking about the information that we can collect from a book and a computer there is two aspect. When you need to find answer of some specific question the internet is a good source of information. You can get the accurate answer to the desired question very quickly. But if you want to know a subject then I think book is more convenient than the internet. Books give us step by step information of a subject in some logical manner so that we can understand the subject well. I don't like to read ebooks because it is very stressful to eyes.

For the difficult or hard to find I prefer to the internet computer but in the simple subjects I used books cos there are lot in my house other just donated to the poor people. I love good books. Computer is nice to use also. Like the things we do now for earning money. And for the profit of learning too.

I think that they both a good sources of information and entertainment. I don't believe that you could fully replace either books or computers. because books are reliable, and even though they might be cumbersome or time consuming at some times as long as you can read you can get the information. And computers although they are fast, require an internet connection if you are using the internet to get your information, and they also require power,if you don't have both of them then you cannot get the information, and with our society so adapted to using technology and computers, I don't think we could ever replace them fully with books as well.

Computers and books are the most important factors that we need for information and in learning. But sometimes books are really more reliable because of specific details it can give.

Computers are great for looking things up and things. Still, there is nothing like a great book when you are lying on the beach or waiting in the doctor's office, etc.

it quite difficult to compare computer sources and books one because they are really two concepts really different!! O i think if you are interested in a specific topic or dates may be a book will be suitable because normally books have an explanation well prepared and really precise about topic or dates they are talking to..on the contray computer sources are really fast and they are almost unlimited..so you can easely switch among different subjects, topics and dates in minutes!! So if you need some informations about a things i think computer will be suitable because is faster and so you needn't much time to get it..on the contrary some deep perspective or view on a particular argument so books will be suitable because more precise and well-prepared so deeply will analize this generally!!So i think it depends what kind of sources are you looking for and which kind of result do you expect from your search and so you can choose the media better and suitable for your knowledge!!

Hi, Using computer, it just takes seconds to retrieve the necessary information as the information is in digital format. On the other hand, books are bulky and we need to go to a library and photocopy the necessary pages. Doing research using the Internet is really convenient and cost materially nothing.

I think both computers and books are important but I still prefer books. Using computers for research and other school works, computer and internet is very useful. But the problem is, the children rely mostly on the net and just copy and paste the answer. That is why grammar, correct usage of the words and even reading comprehension are now neglected. So I think we must balance everything. Reading books will broaden our vocabulary and even widen our imagination.

Computer is the great invention in 20th century! It has changed all the world! because of it,everythings change more easier and more fuster! but I don't think computers can replace of books!you can't find the sence about looking books when you reviewing some books on computers! on the other hands, computers make peoples contect each other less and less! that's really very terrible!

I think we should use them in different way, If you wanna check something in short time, you may choose computer to collect all information you need, but if you wanna deeply to research it, book is better option since the contents will be more detail. And long time to stay in front of computer is not good to your eyes. We should be careful for our health.

Hi friend, I think both are important.Computer is always a software copy where has having a book is a hardcopy. From this we can understand which is better.if you want any information for quiet hours than it is better to use computer system, but if you want the information for quiet number of years than i prefer to always have a hard copy and i think it is always good to have hard copy than that of having software copy in some situations. It all depends upon as how you choose. Have a nice day

I am addicted to my laptop and I cannot sleep without reading a book at night. So both are still very important to me. I can search something and work on the laptop but I still read my books and books have always been my passion since childhood. I will prefer to read in books than read on the screen of a laptop.

No. There is no competition with books and computers. They are working hand in hand with each other. Hard to believe but its true. Computers often times get information from books and books often times rely on computers to publish what they have. There you go.

the power of both tools can not be over emphasized, in this era of computer technology, most of the people in our generation have totally forsaken the reading of books and we have entirely shifted to the computer to get our resources, the computer though can give us lots of information but books on the other hand can serve as a point of reference for any idea or point so the two must go hand in hand

For leisure purpose (eg. novel etc), I would prefer books as looking at computer for a long time would make my eyes feel tired. Furthermore, my work nature requires me to sit in front of the pc all the time. So, whenever possible, will try to minimize the usage of pc after work. When sourcing for information, I'll opt for computers as internet nowadays are very informative and easily accessible by just key in the keywords. However, I'll still go back to the books to make sure that what is written in the internet is reliable as everyone can simply write anything in the internet (which mightnot be true).

Well with time and tide, things changes but some things will always remain the same no matter what. Yes, due to the extreme development of technologies in the recent century, people have moved the way of doing things in daily life to a whole new level. Instead of telegrams and letters, people use emails, instead of using tapes, people use digital compact discs. And the list goes on and on. One of the major part of technological revolution is done by internet. Whether you are a student, a teacher or a businessman, you will always find this thing useful in some way. Net is enriched with informations and all the stuffs that people previously wouldn't find without books and papers. But let me give you some examples. Still universities recommend text books, all legal and official documents are always paper based and almost all the major things (applications and stuffs) are mostly paper based. So we can see that paper and books are still a major part of our life. So maybe computer is taking over our daily works and words but still papers and books are something that will always be with us for help. Plus they are not affected by virus :)
