How cool is that? Gone are the days when we carry heavy textbooks!

While surfing in Yahoo, I came across this article about Gov. Schwarzenegger, trying to implement... phasing out text books, and instead, using digital learning aids. Ain't that cool? I still remember back in my ealry school days, wherein I have to carry with me a big stroller bag. And mind you, I am one of the shortest girls in school. I remember classmates teasing me, that if I'll carry my bag, it might stunt my growth. If only this digital learning aids is available during my time... I might have grown an inch taller? Kidding!!! No really, I just find this way cool. Kuddos to you Schwazenegger!!!

I can just imagine!!! I myself can't carry my bag, an needed a stroller to go to school. Not fair that it took them years to have this in realization, right?

That is one of the best ideas yet. These poor kids having to carry such heavy books. I know we all had to do it but its just to much. Sometimes the books weigh more than the child.

Yes...the best, so far! I am even wishing that I am born a few years later. Carrying my bag back in school is such a pain in the butt! I whine a lot when it's time to go to school, mainly because my bag is so damn heavy for my size!

I also missed those days when I need to bring my book for me to cope up with my daily lessons... but now, I have to carry my ASUS loptop everyday... Well, my laptop is not as heavy as my former books... but it helps me a lot as well! Well, its nice to think of those times...

I am guessing that I am older than you are since I am no longer in school. how I wish I was able to do that in school. When I was in college, my prfessor would tell me, that I am such a lazy nursing student... because, I usually, would just bring a couple of bond papers, and squeeze the days notes there. Well, ofcourse, when it's time for examinations, I find it hard to study, but I made it through...lol If only in our time, bringing a lappie in school is no biggy :-(

As much as it's a great idea from the Governator - I don't know how he's gonna fund that. I mean he couldn't even fund the very basic need of any school - who are the teachers. In fact, he's cutting their jobs!! So please, Governator, do not use my tax dollars to "phase out books" when you're really trying to "phase out" are the valuable teachers. I'd rather you pay them with my tax dollars than "phase out" books! Here's another thing - please do not "phase out" CalGrants! This is the bread and butter of low-income families who have smart kids but yet cannot afford college education. Please do not use my tax dollars to "phase out" books while you're slowly "phasing out" Cal Grant!
