A spelling mistake leads to divorce

A man sent a SMS to his friend. "Convey my thanks to your wife for her nice message", with an inadvertent spelling mistake. On seeing the message the friend applied for divorce. WHY?

I'm sure he typed an 'a' instead of an 'e' in message, so the friend read it that his wife had been having rather intimate experiences with his friend. Typos can make a real difference sometimes. There are a lot of funny ones in newspapers.
