Are you still proud to be a Filipino?

Amidst all the problems in our country which are not solve by previous and current government officials, do you still consider yourself a proud Filipino? For me, I am proud to be a Filipino. I was born and raised here. All of my family and friends are here. We help each other through thick and thin. I guess being a Filipino we should stand for our own ideals so that no matter where we go we will bring pride to our country. I guess by doing that, all the failures in our government will be covered up. What about you?

I will always be proud to be Filipino despite of whatever is happening back home and despite the labels that some Filipinos have earned negatively. I have a story regarding being a proud Filipino. My brother is in high school here in Toronto and I went to his school for their art show. Compared to students of the different races like Korean, Chinese, Canadian, Spanish, African or whatsoever, only the Filipino students showed how proud they are to be Filipino using their art work including my brother.

I will always be a proud Filipino. No matter how worst it is in our country, there is still no place like home. It's funny, but being away from there, the more I became proud of our country. Happy Independence Day and Happy Mylotting!
