What do you use? Warm milk wine?

If you can't sleep what do you take to help you feel drowsy? My grandmother swore by warm milk. My mother and hubby would have an occasional glass of red wine. Some people have taken aids like pills. What do you do? Most of the time, I just suffer through it. I'd rather be up when and if my kids need me.

I suffer through it too. It doesn't happen as often anymore, except for when I've had too much coffee too late in the day. I have been tossing and turning quite a bit lately.

You have 5 kids to worry about. Plus loads of other stuff going on. I'd be tossing too!

I have always heard of drinking warm milk also but I have never tried it. I have never really drank anything to help me fall asleep. I just try to do it all on my own.

What makes all those things work is not what they are, it is what is in them... calcium. Calcium indooses sleep... doesn't MAKE you sleep, but makes you drozzy and sleepy so that you can fall asleep. I know this to be fact. I was taking my calcium supps in the morning.. thinking itd have all day to "disburse". but my 10am I was ready for a nap - I mean really tired!!! Couldn't figure it out. Well, I was watching Food Network one day and it was about ice cream... Ben and Jerrys specifically. That show is great as it telss about the history of foods and how they are made, where they came from and the foods history and what it "is" today.. really a cool show. But I was watching it and the creators of said that ice cream is a great thing to eat at night to help you get back to sleep.. They said.. you always hear to drink a glass of "warm" milk... but it isn't the milk that makes you sleepy.. it is the calcium in the milk that makes you sleepy! I thought, BINGO!!! I get sleepy cause I take the calcium supps and a few hours later.. sleepy! So I put it to the test.. and sure enough .. it works!! So I go to bed and I take my 1200ml of calcium about 1 hour before I want to be asleep... and sure enough, within that time, I am dozing and I if I am watching TV... I'll fall asleep and wake up and turn it off and right back to sleep. To double check myself.. I will take it during the day and sure enough.. within about an hour... I am so drowsey I could lay down and sleep! Give it a try and see how it works for you... but the calcium is what makes you sleepy, not the milk. Anything with a fair share of calcium will do the trick!
