Why didn't you stop me?

I stood at the counter, tapping my credit card nonchantly on the shelf and tried to ask all the right questions. Hello? This is me! The one who cannot find spell check. Yes, the same one. Why didn't you remind me of this as I was passing over my credit card? Why did you not say in gentle tones that it was unlikley that I could master this since I can't even find spell check? You did nothing to stop me as I bought a BLACKBERRY. My reasoning was faultless. Oh, I thought, A blackberry would be a good idea as when I am on the cruise I can still send and receive emails and check nto Mylot. what was I thinking of? Me who looks at a dollar twice before making a purchase. Even my son was shocked before he started laughing and calling his siblings: Guess what? You are not going to believe this but Mum bought a Blackberry: I kept waking up last night wondering about why I had done it and why did not one of you even try to stop me?

Um, What is wrong with buying a blackberry. I am saving up for a smart phone myself. Spelling is not the most important thing in the world. Though, I will confess you could have probably gotten a phone that does about the same thing for a little less money then a blackberry. But, the blackberries are way way cooler. I do believe you are a critical thinker, and can make up your own decision on what to or not to buy, based on your interpretation of the reviews you read, and the needs you have. If it makes you feel better, I heard the other day, that our sub-conscious minds make our decisions before we are aware of it, and then we just try to rationalize that with our conscious minds. Cheers.

I did! I stood right next to you telling you "No! Don't do that! You'll regret it!" You didn't listen. You didn't heed my advice. Is that my fault?? I think not!

LOL, that is just too funny. You sound like me or me like you either way...we are the same when it comes to things like this. I too, can not find spell check and I would not know what to do with a black berry. I can not even text, now how bad is that. I guess we are just old school...maybe that's what we need a school to teach us these new things. lol

If I had been there I'm sure I would have found something to say. You may still of bought the blasted thing, but you would have laughed your butt off at whatever I said. You are a smart lady, I'm sure you will get the hang of it. The more you use it the more you'll know about it.

My son called me a few hours ago and said that today he will teach me how to send messages to my other children and friends. He also said that if I did well tomorrow he would show me how to check my emails on the BB! I made him say: I promise not to laugh, get annoyed or impatient with my mother whilst teaching her these two activities. So, keep your fingers crossed. I may be dragged into thei century by the scruff of my neck! You really should have stopped me Moondancer.

I definitely would have. Blackberry's remind me of businesses, and all of that stuff is kind of complicated lol. I don't know that they work all that well, I think that The Iphone is bad, and I may have even been told that the BlackBerry is as well. Oh well you can always return it right?

Oh well then I'm glad it's going to be beneficial to you. Not sure the regulations of returning cellphones here but I know if it's broke if you have insurance you can get a new one depending on the company, some might not.

Yep, but I do need it for work. It wil assist me so much once I learn how to use it. I can turn it on and check my emails now so that is good. I just have to keep practicing. No, sweetie pie, I cannot rreturn it as we do not have the same regulations of returning goods out here that ou have in the States. It is mine for nbetter or worse.

So, what is the big deal with buying this berry. Surely you can use it to make some jam, or blackberry pie, or whatever it is you do with berries.... Personaly I won't buy berries if I can't spell, I will use a dictionary, or get something like a computer or, you know, one of those fancy things. Ask your kids, they should know of something that caan help, then you don't have to buy berries next time... How does a blackberry taste... Enjoy you berries...

Love your response. Trust me, I can spell very well and I used to be an English teacher but my fingers are arthritic and so I no longer have the ability to type correctly. But I am so last century as far as technology is concerned that despite the help of many mylotters I cannot find spell check on my computer. Hence the many typos. BB's taste wonderful especially when eaten with ice cream or cooked apples. I like them in pies too. How do you like your berries?

It was all those commercials and TV shows wasn't it? They made it look so important to get the latest toy. I am sorry I wasn't there to offer you some important wisdom. I don't know what it would have been, but it would have been brilliant!

I'm sorry that you were not there too. I just know the advice given would have stopped me. My daughter just called and asked if I liked her photo. What photo? I asked. The one I sent to you via my BB. she said. How do I find it? I asked On Mummy! she said.

Hey cynthiann! I have no idea what to say! I don't know too much about the Blackberry myself expect that it is very expensive and pretty complicated! Is that the problem? Is it that you can't figure out how to use it? I'm sure that I wouldn't be able to either! I am just not that good with these new cell phones! I just have a very simple one and all I do with it is make and receive phone calls for emergencies only! That is quite enough for me! I would like to get myself a notebook now! That is my latest thing! I wanted a laptop, but now that I have seen the smaller version I have decided that a notebook would be easier!

Well, understanding how to work it is part of the problem but I am learning one thing each day. yesterday was making calls and today is setting up my email account so that I can go online and receive mail. I cannot get ADSL where I live so this will be a big help in keeping on touch not only with work but with you guys too. Yes, it was expensive - but it was also on sale, so I confinced myself that ti was a good buy. I am normally so frugal, that his was a bog thing for me to do. Especiallyas it wnet on my credit card! Get the note book if you want it. I won't come and stop you!

It's just that it was so expensive and I hsav doubts that I will learn to use all its features. email is the most important thing for me to learn to use.
