paulzyl, the world is going to end but not the way you or many others may think. The Bible states in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 that critical times hard to deal with would be here. It lists the characteristics of people that we see today. That scripture was written about 1600 years ago but it looks like today's headline from any newspaper. Jesus told his disciples that the things you described in your discussion would be the things that take place all over the world. Did you know that in Noah's day the world ended? Planet earth did not end of course but the world of ungoldly people ended in the flood. We're living in a time when this world of ungodly people will end. There is a way we can prepare : take out your Bible, read it and pray that someone from your local Kingdom Hall knocks on your door. If and when that happens, ask for a Bible study and they will be more than happy to help you understand that the things taking place today, even though scary, should not cause us to panic. They can also help you to be prepared to survive the end of this system.

The world is going to end... eventually. Even science will agree with that. The big question is when. The bible specifically says that, "no man knows the day or the hour". It's funny how many Christians think they have it all figured out or think they can. I'm just doing my best to make sure that when it does end I can say I did my best to not make it my fault.

You are right Bible says that knows the exact day or hour, but we can know if its near or not.For Jesus say, when you see these things then you know tht I am near, right?

There is a lot of disturbing news and a lot of scary trends. I'm not sure the current crisis is the beginning of the end. Main reason I say that is because we don't currently have an international agricultural crisis affecting any of the major powers. It may be ugly right now from our perspective but we could get through this yet. People for the last nearly 1900 years of Christiandom have thought that every major crisis was the beginning of the end. Someday we'll be right. I'm not saying the stage is not being set right now. I think the players are moving into position. We just have to be careful not to cry wolf.

For me I dont think it is .Only God can say it . The exact time is only the Creator can tell it. Lets continue the life we had and contribute good things to everyone . We know that global crisis is here we tried our best to face all these trials and start to have good deeds in ourself so that others may do in protecting our nature and other resources.

What I believe that the Bible says about it is the Judgement day is coming soon. But the world is not gonna be destroyed but renew..for it says --I see a new heaven and a new earth coming down. The old things have passed away and everything was made new.

I don't think we have to worry about the world ended anytime soon, considering it has already been around for billions of years and has survived the extinction of the dinosaurs and two world wars. I don't think we can prepare for the end of the world becuase once the world is over, then so will we. I believe that once the world is meant to be over, it will end.

I don't believe that the world can go on like this forever.Yes,earth has been sustained like this for many years. But only since man came here its been becoming like this.As far as what Stephen Hawking has said something like this-considering the crisis for....... I don't know how the human race could sustain for another century.Stephen Hawkings is the main person behind the concepts of black-hole.
