Hi all mylotters, i've just come across this questions in my mind. I wonder how many of us still writing letters to your friends nowadays. As we all know, the internet and computers are so common nowadays that we get to contact our friends through emails, msn, skype and so on. So, are we still have the need to send letters to our friends? For me, i used to write letters to a friend of mine. That was the time during my secondary school, when computers and internet are just at the beginning stage. It is actually quite a fun writing letters to your friends, and the feeling of receiving reply letters. So, what about you? do you have the fun writing letters with your friends?

I used to write letters with my best friend in high school. We gave each other letters instead of send them because... well... we were classmates! The purpose of the letters was to be able to communicate more privately with each other :) That's how we learned most about each other. More especially, since we tried our best to make our letters as creative in presentation as possible, my best friend discovered her love for arts and crafts :D Thanks for the response on my discussion :)

Haha, that's really fun of you and your friends, writing and giving each other letter although you're classmates. :) Ya, while writing letters you can express more of yourself and can be as creative as you would like to be, to make your letter as good and as attractive as you want. Thanks for your response too!

I prefer to send emails to all my friends. I think this is the most flexible means to communicate with friends, However I have also friends who do not have a computer at home and they are married and housewives so I write to them which I also like to o because firstly this way of communication is very ancient and natural and also I can improve my handwrittings. There is fun writting to them. So I have friends whom I have to send emails and to write letters both.

Ya, you're correct that although writing and sending letters is the very ancient and natural way of people communicating, but it is still fun to do so once in a while. The feeling of writing and receiving letters are just different than using emails. Thanks for your response.

I have not written letters since high school when I would write to my pen pals, it is much easier and cheaper to communicate my email, a now since the price of stamps has gone up. The only time I see people writing letter nw is when they are in jail (mostly).

Ya, last time during my secondary school time, i used to have a pen pal too, and we are actually enjoy writing letters to each other, but no more now anymore. Nowadays people can just keep in touch in much simpler and easier with emails or instant messages with the computers. I wonder will the time comes when letters are completely out of date, and no more people using it to communicate.

Yes, I also had a lot of fun exchanging letters with friends during my elementary and high school days when email was not yet that overused. I remember I always get excited when opening letters from my friends. Now, I usually just write emails to my friends esp. those who live in another country. I only write letters now during special occasions like birthdays, graduation, and anniversaries.

I don't write letters to anyone anymore, unless they don't have a computer or phone handy. I used to write notes to friends in class. I know, shame on me lol but it helped pass those boring hours. It was a lot of fun. I also used to write back and forth with friends when we were kids and went to summer camps. It was pretty much the only way to talk unless we were at the same camp.

I have never nor will I ever write and mail letters to friends. Of course I've written cards, poems, etc for my loved ones but I've never had to mail it to them as we've always lived within driving distance of each other. However, I do contact my friends quite regularly through e-mail although not my family as much.

Oh that's so sweet to write cards and poems to your loved ones. :) That's the unique of writing letters which we can't make it with emails or electronic messages. Agree with you that sending emails will be much more convenient and faster, of course, compared to sending letters. Thanks for responding.

It has been ages since I wrote my last letter.Though we mix the romance in writing the letters I don't think that we can revert to that habit ever hereafter.Well hen we are able to communicate with lightening speed why resort to the methods of snail pace.

Hi aikhong, before purchasing the pc I still have to take the trouble to write letters frequently. I haven’t written any letter since I own a pc and have my own email account. I find sending email is more convenient and efficient than writing letter. My loved ones and friends, as well as the persons I communicate with usually would receive my email within a few seconds. I’m glad that I would receive their email answers very fast as well Yeah, I don’t have to take the trouble to write with pen and paper at the moment. No stem and envelope is required anymore. I don’t have to worry whether my loved ones and friends would receive my letter or not. Happy posting

Well, I do not think that many people write letters nowadays. I'm one of them who do not write letters. I communicate with my friends through Internet e-mails, MSN, and through the phone (texting). I don't think it's bad to write letters, but it's just that no one else I knows write letters for friends. The only letters we write nowadays are for business and work purpose, and that's also getting lesser with the e-mails... I think the last letter I wrote was over 10 years ago, and at that time, Internet and e-mails are just at the beginning stage too. I think I had lost touch with it, and can't really recall the exact feelings... However, I do feel happy when receiving replies.

Oh you're one of those who're still writing letters. That'll be so sweet of you and your girlfriend keeping in touch with letters. Ya, there's still something in writing which cannot be replaced by emails, that's the feeling and the sincerity. Thanks for your comment.
