I planted some extra tomatoe plants this year to help save money and I have four great tomatoes growing. I dont have any zuchini and my cuke plant looks like it might die but as long as my tomato plants are doing well I feel successful. I will be doing a lot of canning to store over the winter and give some as christmas gifts. How is your garden doing?

Well done! I have lots of fruit and veg in my garden, I love planting stuff out there and spend a few minutes every day on the garden apart from watering everything. I think it is wonderful when those tiny seeds turn into little plants and eventually eating your home grown food is really satisfying. I only have a small garden but the path and driveway have many planters full of my attempts at growing our own food and I am quie proud of myself and anyone else who tries to do this.

I need to get a lot better at it. I was on a walk and one of my neighbors used strawberries as a ground cover. It looked great. I think we are going to try it next year. They were nice a green with little red surprises all over inside.

I always plant a couple of plants of cherry tomatoes, I love them, other than that I am not very good at growing vegetables, but I guess if you have the room it is an excellant way to save some money...

We tore up our plants to make room. We need to plant more plants next year but this year we figured we would take advantage of it.

Most of my plants are up - although i havent been able to find my cucumbers but i did plant them a week or two later than the rest. My garden right now is a tad weedy - i need a nice day with time to weed.

I need to motivate my kids better. My son owes me money for some damage he did to my comforter so he is working to pay me off first which isnt as fun for kids.

my mom used to pay us 25 cents a row for beach money to weed the garden. then we'd get our money at the beach for treats..if we didnt weed the garden or do other chores for the money we didnt get to go to the store for the 5 cent candies (i admit they didnt taste so great sandy but we loved em at the time and we weeded the garden willingly to get the treats!).
