Hi Indian Cricket fans, This is very difficult to digest but its the fact that last year champion India is now out of T20 world cup squad. This is the same team which was projected to be the strongest contender for world cup this year too, because of strong batting line up and experienced bowlers in our team. But, at the end it all happened when those guys took it very lightly just playing with all indian's emotion. Who do you think 'responsible for' this loss? Can there be anyone else than the captain? dhoni's slow innings in T20. Being Mr KOOL means and even kool after every loss. lets debate on this. thanks, saumya.

Actually, it was a fault on many other players' part too. Its not just Dhoni who didn't perform well. Take for instance, Ishant Sharma.. He has been bowling in absolutely ridiculous manner!! No variation of pace, and such a foolish fielder!! He can't run fast and even drops those easy catches!! In last match against England, Jadeja wasted about 15 balls!! Such an idiot!! So, I think, Dhoni alone should not be blamed as there were other persons responsible for this knockout.

well u are right, but its the 'captainship' which matters most of time. If u have been watching IPL closely then u must have observed that 'without any star players, Rajastan royal' could able to perform extremely well under shane's guidance. I never ignore the inexperience team India last year wining the T20 trophy. That time there was no hipe for each player. The only thing to blame is the 'media' and 'sponsers' which throws a lot of money behind these players so that they least bother weather their team is winning/loosing. Afterall, their pocket is filled with notes in both the cases. these things should be stopped to make them realize their mistakes and come back strongly with a good game plan next time.

I admit its the media and sponsorships that are responsible for their shameful performance in World T20!!

hi saumya, Indian cricket fans are emotional lot and just one week before Dhooni was perhaps the best captain we ever had. He won us world cup, series in Australia ( our first) but couple of looses in T 20 format and we find him that he is useless. No i wont support any call for his removal and who is his replacement. Sehwag ???? who deliberately hid his injury. If we change captain after every loss then in one year we might need to change 20 captains which is not fair at all. Cricket is a game and one team has to loose and if we lost ok we should see the reasons for loss but captain is only as good as team and if our bowlers dont fire or give too much runs in end over what can captain do?

hey asweetie, i agree with u, and lets forget for sometimes dhoni is captain, just consider him as a batsman. so, has he done justice to the team with his bat? has he scored enough run from his side? well, we have a lot more questions to ask him from a captain perspective as well.

The main reason for the failure is undoubtedly Dhoni. His slow batting disease caught others too. He is not fit to play T20 games. May be he can play test matches hereafter. The worst thing is he says he is happy with his batting. What a shame? He bothers only about his batting averages not the victory of India. People are very sharp and they know Dhoni is no more a hero but a big zero.

its happens to every captain at somepoint of time..we praised dhoni when he won all series in line ...the way of peoples thinking should change..as a fan of Indian team we should support our teams wining and losses.. dhoni alone is not responsible for recent lost in t20 against England and west indies..they won as a team and loose as a team..so dhoni should continue his captaincy and yield more fruitful victories in future

i don't feel anything to debate here......we cannot blame dhoni alone for our loss...cricket is not a individual's game....it is a team game...and every player of the team have to contribute for the win....since he is the captain people are blaming him that is not fair......if you see Australia is also a giant.....in fact do you know T20 format was introduced by the Australian and the New Zealand and not India.....what happened to Australia they didn't make it to the super 8 also.....but did anyone do anything......i India we people have taken this sport to our heart......it is wrong to blame dhoni alone.....i would say B.C.C.I is also at fault.....if you see the last year the team has not got any rest......it is continuously playing.....according to a survey done by a media channel....it is found that the player got rest for only 45 days approx.......this is even less than what an Indian army soldier gets.....and yes he is Mr. kool and he will be.....i have full faith in him......and we should also know that he is also a human being at end of day !!!!!!!

How quickly people forget Dhoni's heroics? Just think back what happened in 2007? The entire Indian team was in shambles after the shocking exit from ODI world cup in West Indies. To put together a completely new team, with no experience whatsoever, to win the T20 world cup is a great achievement. Lets not forget what Dhoni has achieved in the last two years. CB series in Australia, One day series victories against England, Sri Lanka and New Zealand, Test series victories against Australia, England and New Zealand. Cricket is a team game. In any sports, team will fail. If every time India wins, then the game will be boring. When India lost to England it was by a mere three runs, just another hit to boundary was all the difference. It is easy to blame someone in hindsight. Everyone blamed Kapil Dev for letting Chetan Sharma bowl the last over against Pakistan in Sharjah two decades ago. Why nobody blamed Dhoni for letting Joginder Sharma bowl the last over against Pakistan in T20 world cup 2007? Because, he succeeded. If he had failed to contain Misbah Ul Haq, Dhoni would be blamed. Decisions are difficult to make and certain risks need to be taken. What has happened is happened? Let us move on. Set our sights on West Indies ODI series, which commences next week.

My personal view he should just get one chance. Say the WI series. Then this captaincy must be under scanner. India is over hyped team and players get lot of attention what they do not deserve. After so much money and all, how they can play with Indian emotion?

More than captaincy his batting is a problem. The selectors need to tell him that he will not be in team only for his captaincy. He is doing well in ODI And Test Matches. His T20 Career needs a rethinking.

I don't think Dhoni should resign. It was 2 bad performances after so many months of great cricket. But, the way India played is surely disappointing. They did not seem to be passionate about the game and not hungry enough to win. England were very hungry in the last game and deserved to win against India. I would blame 'lack of passion' for the loss.

Unfortunately there were some bad decisions made in the world cup, but still you cant blame the captain alone. As captain you can work out as many strategies as you like, but if the players dont perform everything goes to waste. Some of the strategies Dhoni used in this tournament did not work out as planned. You win as a team and so do you lose. I think its stupid to ask Dhoni to resign, that too for just loosing this tournament. He has achieved so much in the past including a world cup in 2007 and that should not be forgotten. It will be important to see how they emerge from this mess. All the best to them!
