Returne a Task

What happens when you returne a task? The other day I returne a task because when I cliked on it I had to write 4 paragrafs about an item and when the page changed it was not the same item. And since knew nothing about that product that was giving to me by mistake I returned it. So I'm wondering if someone knows what happens when you returne it. Those it give you negative points for not doing it after accepting it? Or what happens? Thanks
