Nowadays, a lot of people feel stressed out at work. According to a survey by Northwestern National Life, 40 percent of American workers say their job is "very or extremely stressful". It is no secret that stress can harm our health. It is likely to cause immune cells to age prematurely. So, we'd better find some ways to relax ourselves after a whole day's work. As to me, I'm not very busy during working hours cause I'm a college teacher. I don't have to stay at the work place for 8 hours a day. I'm free to leave when my classes are over. But I still feel a little bit stressed out sometimes. When this happens, I mostly read some fun jokes which make me laugh and relax. Other times, I go out for a walk, mostly to a garden where it is very quiert and beautiful to help me calm down. Guys, what's your way of handling stress? Come and share with all of us.

Hi friend! I usually take a long hot bath to reduce my stress level. I try to find ways to relax. I watch funny movies or sit outside on my back porch. Writing also helps me in reducing stress. I also try not to think about work when I am at home.

I'm glad that you have your own ways of reducing stress which is extremly important coz heavy stress will certainly do harm to our health. And it's also important that we totally forget about those things that make us feel stressed out when we want to relax ourselves.

For me, I would get away from the source of stress, go out and have a walk or find someone to chat, just to let my mind totally forget about the problem. Sometimes, the stress still persist even I have a short break, then I will force myself to have a sleep, then I will not think about it anymore.

Well, I don't think it wise to force yourself to sleep when you're stressed out. That may do harm to your health. Besides going for a walk or chatting with someone, you can try some funny jokes or TV programms. Trust me, they do make you laugh and relax.

What ever we do or where ever we are from everybody experiences stress and different people handle it in different ways. Try to be with humorous friends or call them up if they are not around and i am sure that helps a lot(For me). We should not take pills as it will harm our body only, before i used to smoke hash but no not anymore. The best is to be with people who respect and value us as we are cared and loved so our stress level usually pulls down.

Listening to Music and riding my bike. Reading also sometimes. Getting stressed is not only related to jobs and work. One can get stressed by doing something more too often. You get stressed when you think a lot about your problems and find ways to solve them. It's always better to calm one down when stressed by doing things that we like. In the fast paced world finding time for oneself can be tough, but we have to get sometime to spend for ourselves and make ourself happy. bourne

It's true. We feel stressed out not only because of jobs and work. Doing something too often can make a person feel stressed too. As you mentioned, when we think a lot about a problem, we're likely to get stressed. When I keep thinking about a tough problem that's not easy to reach a solution, I feel frustrated, upset and maybe for a long time in a bad mood. So we'd better find some ways to relax.

HI,Mr.Chen! Nice to meet you here. You are a college teacher in China?a English Teacher ,maybe? Aha,I'm a college student. You know, nowadays,The students have much more stress than teachers ,especially in examinations, parents, sociality in school, and the emloyment pressure. So,show some mercy to your students, right? haha. I have a positive character so I won't worryed a lot,but when I have pressure, maybe I prefer to dance to sweat,to ease the pressure.or listen to some favourate music, take a nap,and eat some sweet food, then I will be all right. By the way,I love your avatar! It's from a Japanese cartoon,«The prince of tennis »,I like it very much!

Hi, it's good to see you here. Yeah, you're right. I'm an English teacher, so it's easy for me to understand students' stress, esp. when they face the examination as the popular CET 4 is coming soon. Though under heavy pressure, my students do work hard to get through the difficulty. I often give them some advice on how to unwind stress after class for they are freshmen knowing little of how to relax themselves. By the way, I'm Miss chen, not Mr. chen. lol.

My best suggestion is to walk in the park. Or anywhere where there are lotsa greens. It's very relaxing to the mind and to the sight. Walking along the beach line is also good. Whenever you have the chance to take a walk, do so because it's really going to release your stress. But, if there's not a lot of time to use, listening to music will also help. The slow types, of course. Or, the worship songs. You can also eat comfort foods such as sweets and ice cream. Or any food that you like. Your favorite foods maybe just to get your mind of from what's causing you stress. Last suggestion, take a deep breath and then take a quick nap.

I go for a run, read in the sun, treat myself to some chocolate or time doing nothing but writing on the computer. My work, these days anyways, tends to be farming, taking care of the house, and bits and pieces online. Which keeps me, of course, insanely busy.

For me the best way to relax myself is to do exercise,a team-play game especially helps. One will not think about too much with an exhausted body. Then I can fullly relax in both physical and emotional departments.

Hi, Stress can eat you alive and sometimes I feel I just wanna hide under the covers . But I have read alot of Dan Millman books and put myself around people who have a better out look on life So many people can be downers and bring you down . I am starting to find joy in simple things and see some things you cant change . Yes, money is a huge stress factor, but what can you really do ? Work harder want more sometimes is not enough. Life in the here and now and take each day at a time . and save each little bit helps. Also, i walk now and do tai chi which helps dealing with things better. now that it is summer i can swim . we all need one thing we can do for us .

I get stressed at times too. When I feel that I am too stressed already, I usually slow down things a little bit. I unwind by taking a vacation and go somewhere nice. If not, then I just stay at home and watch movies. Sometimes, I hang out with my friends at their houses or go to malls together.

I think a lot of people, especially in the U.S. get very wrapped up in their careers. It is what it is, a job. Even in a recession, there are ways to make money and take on other jobs. You do not need to stress yourself out so much. I do feel that when stressed, physical exercise is very helpful, as well as comedy.

It is probable for people to find others ways of making money, but it's not quite easy for them to find a good job as before.

yeah, i feel stressed out every after work. at times i just give in to the desires of my body to rest. so i immediately rest. but most of the time, i do go out and have a chat with friends. talking with them about anything under the sun without the need for intelligent discussions, just fun and bonding. i think it helps to unwind together with people whom i share my values and interest. usually, it is over a big pizza or pasta.
