Dance dance revolution *smiles* lost 20 pounds, Though any aerobic excersise would help you burn fat, muscle toning/building excersises will help you to need more calories for doing regular things like waking up in the morning :P lorl and then a lot of it comes down to just plain eating right, taking in the right kinds of fats instead of the wrong kinds, getting lots of protein, etc.

Dance Dance revolution is a great way to lose weight. I am now doing one day a week of Core Cardio, 2 days of Turbo Jam, and 1 day a week of Rockin Body, and 1 day a week of Yoga Booty Ballet. I am more concerned at this point of being healthy, strong, and flexible then being skinny. I want to know that I can physically handle any challenge that comes my way.

I've had success with losing weight before, but it wasn't due to a specific diet. I basically just cut back on the amount of "bad stuff" that I was eating. I threw away all of my ice cream, pizza, cookies, and general junk food. I eat more whole grain breads, and I also workout more. I lost around 10 pounds in a few weeks - not a huge loss, but the good habits are sticking with me.

not for very long though, I gave up on diets years ago. The biggest weight loss I ever had was 34 pounds, but then I stopped the diet and went back to eating like I always did and after awhile I just got discouraged and stopped dieting altogether.

yep I am just about the same way with stairs and excess walking as well, and I am in so much pain that I cannot walk in the winter at all.

34 pounds is really good. Dieting is really hard, I get discouraged easily too. I love working out though even though there are periods of time where I don't, I have been back at it for 2 weeks now. I like to be really prepared before I go on vacation. I gave up on being skinny, but I like to know my legs are strong, and my heart is strong so I can handle all the excess walking and what ever else we plan on doing on vacation. Last year I was not working out at all and we went to a forest preserve and it was hot, and my heart was beating like crazy, and I was sweating like mad I did not like that feeling at all. Then you had to climb up this one thing to go see a water fall, I didn't trust my leg strength, that really bothered me, I didn't get to see the waterfall. This year I plan on being physically prepared for anything when we go on vacation. If I lose some weight in the process that would be great too.

Yes, I have lost weight with a particular diet (32lbs), and I found it easy to follow. I did it with a friend, which was good support for each of us and I'm sure that helped too, because we encouraged each other along the way. If you pm me your email addy, I will send you the diet sheets.

My most succesful weight loss program was when I was going through a divorce and I was too upset to eat. At that time, I lost 40 pounds. I just didn't feel very hungry. Of course, since then, I have put it on plus much more. I can't seem to find anything that really satisfies me enough to make me want to stick with it. I really need to lose weight though. I hate being the weight I am at!

Yes, I lost 19 pounds doing the Atkins diet, it worked really well and really quickly for me, and I loved eating most of the food as I am a big meat lover. I did the diet several times every time I put on a few pounds, but the doctor told me I can't do it any more because I keep getting kidney stones. So I have to cut back on my meat consumption. Bummer.
