you owned the movie already? We are going to the Free Family Film festival this morning with my sister in law. We are going to see Madagascar 2. My daughter already has a copy. But it is an outing. And it gives her the full theatre experience. Waste of time, or fun either way?

children don't mind replays. it gives them a sense of pride knowing what's going to happen in the scene. and as you said the full theater experience would be something she would have so, why not?

I think I would go also just to get out and about with the family. It would have to be a good movie for me to go out and watch it though. I don't think it is a waste of time if you have fun together.

You are right it is a outing and will be more exciting seeing it from something different then a television screen. I hope she had fun. I know alot of kids would.

I think that I would if it so happens that it were with my friends or relatives. It is not bad to watch the same movie again in a theater or cinema on a big screen for a different feeling. But in fact, it has been a long time since I last saw a movie in the theater.

I think it would be fun.. I mean, that is if you like the movie.. if not then it would definitely be a waste of time. LOL. But since it's for your daughter, I say go for it, whatever makes her happy right? Have a great day! =)

Of Course. If I enjoyed the film enough to buy it, I will go see it in an encore presentation on a big screen. There is nothing that can compare to that big sheet of silver reflecting the story to me. Hell, that screen makes some lousy movies tolerable.

ersmommy1, I vote you attend. Your child will love having a date with you and will really appreciate the fact that you are spending time with them. Build memories, free ones are the best remembered.

I'd go... take the kids... look at it as a different way of seeing the movie and they might enjoy watching it again. Kids love watching their favorite movies over and over (why else did you buy the DVD of the movie for her?!? You knew she'd enjoy watching it again and again. But in this case, it might not be enjoyable just cause of the movie... but of HOW she is GETTING to watch the movie... all the other kids there and the atmosphere and all. Bet ya she'll love the outing!

At Christmas time the school was showing The Polar Express as a way to earn money for the PTO. We owned it, but went anyways for something to do and to support the school. I wasn't thrilled with the experience. That many kids made it far too loud to enjoy the movie, and their projecter was tiny. We watched it at home a few days later where it was quiet and our TV is large enough to make it seem like a theater experience. I won't think twice about doing it again though, it's fun for the kids. Next time I just won't have my mind set on actually enjoying the movie!

Hey it's free - why not? And you get to enjoy some community time - seeing your neighbors, letting your kids hang out with their kids to play, meet other people in the neighborhood, meet other kids in the neighborhood, etc. Plus - it will do your community elects good - after all they put the whole thing together. So it's great of you to show some appreciation by showing up to a community event.
