last thursday night we had storms which made my roof leak. took me till saturday to get a roofer out which said there was nothing he could do and left (he only patches and said we needed a new roof) almost every day since there has been a storm and more leaking.. the insurance people didnt call till tues and are trying to get out of paying for all of it (saying it may be wear and tear not weather related only it only started leaking with a bad storm so to me that would be storm damage) i wont get a new roofer out till tomorrow night and not only has the weather made my roof a living hell its also knocked off ALL my favorite tv shows and made it impossible to enjoy my pool or sleep (weather radio going off all the time) ever feel like the weather is just totally against you or that you pissed off the weather gods?!?

Oh yes I know all too well about bad weather, roofs, and lack of tv, radio, refrigeration, all electricity gone. In 2004 we had the summer from hell. Nothing but hurricanes all over the state! Charley was very close to us. We had damage. We lost three 30' trees inside an hour. Fortunately our trees fell away from the house. My friend was not so lucky. She had a tree crash through her living room roof. The rain was horizontal. I mean parallel with the ground, not just slanted. Scariest storm I ever experienced! Get this, it was followed by three more storms. Thanks God they were a bit less severe and farther away. Don't stress too much, it will all get worked out I'm sure.

Nope ( Rubs Thors hammer necklace ) Heck the ones that came through yesterday even got me another 1/2 hr pay since we weren't allowed to clock out & leave. I'd have been sent home early if it hadn't been for the storm.

The weather was against me when i spent Monsoon Season in Arizona. I know AZ is a freaking dessert, but not during July and August. LOL YIKES! I was stuck in the house, and it was pouring so freaking hard, that there's no way I would have been able to go to the Coffee Shop across the street without getting stuck by lightning. LOL

Yes.....I have been on vacation. Part of my vacation I was supposed to meet my sister up at my camper for a couple of days....well there was supposed to be big storms (the night before tornados had gone through the area).....we did just stay at her house....but it would have been nice to get to go through with our plans!

yes when i lived in florida. it was bad enough that storms knocked out the tv reception, electric, etc. every few days but the internet thing really po'd me. i lived in the country with my daughter and i thought it would be better in the city. it was a little but then it was snakes even in the city and sometimes the weather also.

I don't think so. It happens to everybody and it gets to the best of us. Here, it has been 4 consecutive days raining and the ceiling is also dripping of water. What we do is we put a pail right where the dripping is. When the storm is over and the sun shines, that would be the time that we would patch the roof.

Sometimes i feel that way - more because i make plans to do something and then it rains or it snows and you cant do whatever it is. I've never had something like my roof be bad and have it rain. Although this weekend it has rained so much the water is seeping through the walls in the basement - makes me glad its unfinished and there is nothing on the floors!

We also had a leak the other night, in our bathroom, which was due to a storm. And I think it's also unlikely that our insurance will cover it. Other than this though I don't feel as if the weather or weather gods are against me, as we've had some sunny weather when it hasn't been stormy. That's quite unusual for us these days, so we've been quite happy about it! I hope you get your roofs sorted out and that the storms stop and the weather gods make up for it with some lovely, calm, sunny weather.

The weather seems to be against everyone this year, moon! We've had an insane amount of rain this year! I was watching the Weather Channel last night and they had a story about somewhere in Texas that is under such severe drought conditions that they're losing crops and here we are with a rain surplus of at least a dozen inches! I wish the federal government would stop wasting money on stupid things and install a drainage system across the country, with pumps in all major cities, to pump excess water from flooded areas to areas under drought conditions, but that would make too much sense, huh? My veggie garden has suffered tremendously from all the rain. I just went out on the deck to see what the latest storm (last night) had done and found that a rather large tree had come down, murdering my clothesline! GRRRRRRRRRR!!! I wonder if our homeowner's insurance would cover a murdered clotheline? LOL
