Who will win this year's Tour de France?

I hope there are some cycling enthusiasts on the Lot. I'm not as much into bicycle racing as I am into plain old personal cycling but I do follow the Tour de France each year. The field is pretty wide open and there are a lot of side stories. Lance Armstrong coming out of retirement to promote the fight against cancer being probably the biggest. I don't think he has a shot at winning but who does? I think Contador is the only name that really comes to my mind but I wouldn't dare predict he'll win with my limited knowledge. Who do you think will take it this year?

I think we can safely assume that it will not be Lance, He is fast this year, but not as fast as he has been in years past and he is recovering from a broken coller bone. Contador is a good pick, I am curious to see what Canandish does. I will reserve my overall and jersey picks until I see the final rosters.

If anyone even thought Lance might have had a chance, I think the collar bone did him in. I might have a better feel for who has a chance in this after the first week of the tour. Nice to see you are still around. Thought you gave up on it here by the dates on the discussions.

I gave up on mylots for a while because the only active subjects that I am sort of interested in are in the political range. In the cycling which is my true passion, I felt like I was just talking to myself.

Good call on Contador. Can't wait for next year when Armstrong will have his own team and we get to really see Contador and Armstrong go head to head.

Thanks. He made me look like a prophet this go around. It will be very interesting to see them going head to head with different teams backing them up. Armstrong was much stronger than I had expected. The man still has it. He always manages to attract a strong team around him so I would have to say that he is definitely a contender next year.

Mr Lance Armstrong is back for his 8th title. Hope he will win it cos he will make more history. In the history of the World, World of Cycling and many other will follow his footstep.

He's doing alright for an old warrior isn't he. I still think it would be a surprise to see him win. His own teammate Contador is there to give him a run for it. We'll see what happens in the mountains over the next week.

after the 8th stage, it is looking Andy will win the race because team Saxobank will help him very much and Lance have no chance at all to win but Contador have a chance still alive as he a mountain rider.
