Is Obama a thinker or just a good reader?

and do you think that Bush could read without a teleprompter? I think he knows what is on the teleprompter because he wrote what he was going to say and therefore he knows what it means. he is a thinker, because he is a very smart man. and he is the president of the USA and i think that he is a fine prez. better than both bushes,lol and clinton and mccain and palin would have been and were. he is turning this country around, yes he has spent money, but you have to spend money to make money!

Judging from much that I've read and listening to him, I think he's clearly both. His extensive reading helps him formulate his ideas. What he reads from the prompter isn't a surprise to him; his writers work with him. In fact, he makes much less use of them than most presidents have. They're more like editors to polish things up and clarify issues for him.

He's definitely a reader. He's shown so many times how he's unable to speak effectively before a crowd without an aid of some sort. So, for that matter, in my opinion, he's not as good an orator as many would like to think he is.

No...I've heard him speak far away from teleprompters. He's not quite as good as Bill Clinton is (once, President Clinton's teleprompter crashed and he spoke off-the-cuff for 45 minutes) but he's very good at extemporaneous speaking. I think you're referring to George W. Bush, who could barely speak even WITH his teleprompter.

Well,he is still new in the politic world.Maybe we should give he a chance and a little space to order world by his own way.Who know if he can success do it.I hope Obama will success with his new work as USA president and lead the world to better life and not like USA president like before...have a nice day.Thank you.

Sorry I think you have it wrong he reads everything thru before he speaks and I believe he is both a good thinker and a good reader. I have never heard a boring speech from him yet, not before the election or since becoming President. He is very good at using the teleprompter much better than others. Plus he is 110% better talker than "Bush" could ever be. Bush was a horrible speaker and a horrible President!
