Over 'ere son... on me 'ead

Some years ago, we were taken to a horse race meeting as guests of a company my husband dealt with. The men were talking business and it seemed that all the other wives were on a major 'suck-up' mission to the director's wife (who was lapping it up!!) I was in 'fly-on-the-wall' mode... (no,I dont mean buzzing around sticking my proboscis alternately into horse poo and lunch) and gazed out over the balcony where I spotted a woman walking along with a big furry hat. My automatic reaction was to exclaim, "Look!! That woman's got a dead cat on her head!!!' (apologies to any animal lovers who are offended by that. I wish no harm to cats) Judging by the icy looks I attracted, (and the laughter from the men)I'm guessing that every one of those wives had an identical hat at home. So, do you have one of those hats?...
