I never tried the IUD, however, I did take the Depro but it gave me some serious headaches and I gained weight..I'm back to the pill, the way I don't forget to take it is I put it by my toothbrush..lol...I know I'm going to brush my teeth in the mornings and it's right there I know to take one..

I used the pill over the IUD...Worked great for me. the only time it didnt work was when we WANTED to have children. Four kids later, and my husbands vasectomy and can say by by to the pill.

I don't do an IUD or the pill. I use the nuva ring. It is kind of like an IUD, but you have to replace it once a month. I like it so much better than the pill. I am such a forgetful person!

I have an IUD also. I got it put in after my son was born, well a couple months afterwords. So i've had it about 6 months now and If I didn't want to NOT get pregnant again I'd have it taken out lol.....I really hate it. Maybe my body is still getting use to it but when my time comes every month it seems to last like 2 weeks and I cramp like i'm in labor!!! lol I so hope I can get lucky and It will take my monthly things away :) But its not looking good lol

One should find what's most easy for them to use. I heard from a petite woman though that her husband could feel the IUD in her and it would hurt if it was hit during love making. I'm glad I don't get any, I don't have to worry about birth control.

well, at first it might but the string becomes soft and then one should not feel it, but i guess some might.

I have heard there is a new pill out where you do not get your periods at all. Maybe you know of it, I do not think it is out here in south africa yet. They say it is completely safe and yes you would be able to have children later if you want.

I beleive it is called Seasonale and you only get three or four periods a year with it. It takes your body about 6-9 months to adjust before you actually only have three or four a year. My friend was on it for a while and before her body had time to adjust she had to have a hysterectomy. Not because of the birth control just because of her maternal age and some other things.

no you go to your gynocologest and she will put it in. you can have one for 5 years or the 10 year one. if you have insurance, ask if they will pay for it, most of them do.

i'm using the pill right now. My doc suggested the IUD because i told her the side effects of the pill are a little irritating. how do you like it?? i wasn't sure about having something up there for that long. i'm pretty paranoid about getting pregnant again so i like knowning my period is coming. one of my doctors said that the pill would probably be the best to keep my period coming once a month. at least i know when its coming. but really, tell about how the IUD is? maybe i'll consider it.

Go to www.mirenia.com and read about the IUD. I have had it for one year and no problems. I still have a monthly but its not as strong as it used to be. You go for your regular pap every year and that gives you the assurance of not been pregnant. Read on it and see if its what your looking for. good luck and if you do have it, all the best for you.

I use to take the pill a long time ago. After my youngest daughter was born 17 years ago, I had my tubes tied. Best thing in the world. I have three girls and thats plenty.

the best to answer this would be your female doctor, or someone who has it already.

I LOVE having an IUD. I'm one of those people that really had a hard time remembering to take a pill every day. I have 3 years left and I'd recommend it to anyone that is in a relationship with one person. It did kind of freak me out when they told me that if I slept with someone who had a disease, I could be more likely to have serious health risks but there is a risk with anything that you take... But I like knowing that I won't get pregnant and that I can have another child after I have it removed.

I don't even have periods anymore. Once in a while, I'll have some spotting but I haven't had to use a pad in ages! I got an IUD after my friend got one. The first period I had after the IUD was terrible.... bad, bad cramps... but now that I look back on it, it was worth the pain for the peace of mind that it gives me.
