What is the best thing you ever found and bought at a yard/garage sale?

It's that time of year. At least in and around my neighborhood. We see the signs. Yard sale at this address, garage sale here. Clothes of all shapes and sizes. I find bargains for the kids. I'd say the most used item we purchased was at an estate sale. It is a cabinet. It went well with my living room furniture. On the top we placed my stereo, inside we keep phone books and photo album. Definitely a multi purpose item.

I didn't really get the chance to get out and do a lot of yard sales this year even though every year I say that I am going to. My daughter and I went to two of them just around the corner in June and were able to get a few things..clothes articles but other than that we missed out again this year. My two neighbor ladies that live in front of me are big big yard sale junkies. They go every single weekend during the summer, they both have been able to find some really great things and they both are such pros that they normally always get it for a lot cheaper that originally marked. The one lady loves to decorate her front yard according to the holiday and she will search for decorations at these yard sales. Most of the stuff she gets no one would even think of using but she is very creative in that way and uses all of these odds and end from yard sales to make things such as witches and monsters. Next year I will attempt to get out and get to more sales.

Oh, I once saw this hand-built dollhouse. Was a really nice thing, not something bought out of the store and made of plastic. Someone took time putting this together.

I have seen tons of yard sales this year especially since everyone is trying to make a little extra to help them out. I haven't be able to stop at one though since it is my step dad driving. His motto is that he saves us money and keeps us from buying stuff we don't need or won't use. But I never buy things unless I can use them or for someone that can. I can't wait till my mom gets another car soon. Then maybe we can hit a few yard sales and find some useful treasures.

I bought a couple of hummel knockoffs that I thought were real at first. I thought I'd landed on antiques roadshow, the place where people buy an item at a garage sale for only 2 bucks and it turns out to be worth three thousand. But, of course, with my luck that didn't happen. I still think the statues are cute and plan to go put them in my new apartment whenever I get it.

I have not been to any yard sales for a very long time. I think the best thing I got that I cherish the most though, is a Easter niknak. It is a tree with hanging eggs from it and Easter Bunnies.

Yard sale......... Hello my friend, the best thing that I've ever found at a yard sale was books, I love to read books and sometimes they have them at really reduced priced so I felt kind of fortunate when I came up on a book that I had been wanting for quite some time and found it at a yard sale for a really reduced price. Thanks for posting! happy mylot and good luck with the yard sales. I don't go to them much anymore but it's always something fun to do whenever you happen to have another female friend around to talk things over with......not to mention they can act as good decoy in the negotiating process.

The best "find" that we have had at a yard sale so far this year would definitely have to be the only used once Leapster for my 3 year old. The lady bought it for her son brand new at Walmart with the 3 games for over 100 bucks, and we got the Leapster and the 3 games for 10 bucks :) I was definitely impressed about that!
