PC : assembled or branded?

Whats your personal computer, a branded or an assembled one. The one I am using is an assembled one and I think the branded one is quiet costly and it does not give the output which you desire. Whereas in the assembled you have the liberty to expand your desired speed and all other configuration! More over you have your own configuration and desired parts!

Although I can assemble a computer, whenever I am buying a new system, I'll always get a brand name. While it might be more expensive than a computer I can assemble on my own, it is the additional services, warranties and software that I am more interested in. So I don't mind paying a little bit extra.

Same here an assembled one its way more cheaper and better than a branded one. after that only upgrade or replace the ones u need to like video cards...^^V Assembled All the Way!

me too have an assembled one...they are cheaper than the branded packs...
though the quality and performance is same....then why its costly?
anyways...enjoy.

I use the assembled one since many years and it works good. It is cheaper than branded one, also I feel free to choose the configuration and to up grade it anytime when necessary.

I am using an assembled one courtesy of my cousin. It has a higher specs than the branded one at the same cost during the time when I bought this comp that I am using right now. Plus they have the same warranty anyway. So I believe an assembled one is better.

We have four systems in our home. One desktop and 3 laptops.The desktop is assembled one and of course that was the first system we bought for us.As that is assembled, we will be doing all the hardware and software trials with that system only with the thought of less loss in case of failure. But even after nearly 30 re installation of OS attempts, its working fine but with slower speed and now only the CR Rom is giving some troubles. Even if we go for the branded one, we have to spend a lot if it get repaired .Also the initial cost is more and the warranty in just one year. Within a year, no one computer is malfunctioning ,either it is assembled or branded. Why should we waste our money in the branded products?

I always use assembled, or 'white box' computers, you definitely get a lot more power for your money than using branded computers.
