Who Else Hates Store Bought Cans of Biscuits?

Well, its not the actual biscuits I hate. Even the store bought "Grands" biscuits are yummy. But the problem is, opening the damn can. You never know when that thing will pop! It always scares the hell out of me, whether I am the one opening it, or someone else does. Sometimes it will pop when I am taking off the wrapper, sometimes you have to press a spoon into the seam to get it to pop. One time it really scared the sh!t out of me when I set it on the counter to get a spoon, and it decided to pop and fall on the floor! With all the technology we have, isn't there some way we could time these things, or package them different? Or will it take for some older person to have a heartattack from the fright of that unexpected pop? I know I could just stop being cheap and buy those Pillsbury Biscuits that you can take out individually, but I haven't tried them yet, and I hate to be the first one to buy a new food. So, am I alone in this, or do you hate the way those cans pop and scare the cripes out of you too?

I remember my brother telling me a story once. I don't know if it is true or not. This lady was grocery shopping one hot summer day and she needed to stop somewhere else on the way home. She left her groceries in the car and went inside the other store she needed to go too. When she got back in the car and sat in her seat, something went pop and hit the back of her head. She reached back and felt what she thought was her brain coming out of her head. She grabbed her cell phone and called 911 saying she had been shot. The police arrive, the ambulance arrives.....come to find out the can of biscuits she had gotten in the store expanded in the heat of the car and exploded.

OMG I would have loved to see that in person!!! That would have been way funny! I don't know why I'm laughing though, had it happened to me I would have reacted the same way!

fresh biscuits, either from flour and baking powder and stuff, or Bisquick sorts of things are SO easy I never understood the point of biscuits from a can. They are also usually too salty or full of chemicals, and you have no control over the flavor or the fiber content. I love to add whole wheat flour and or herbs or cheese to my biscuits and you can't do that with a can. Not to mention they are cheaper if you make them yourself. suffice it to say I rarely encounter the POP.

Be glad you have never encountered the pop lol, its not nice at all. I don't find the can biscuits salty, however I have been eating them forever so maybe I am just used to it. I would make my own as you just described, but I don't have the utensils or bowls to mix any just yet *sniff* Things are always cheaper when you make them yourself though, so I may look into it. I might not have biscuits as often though lol.

I was going to tell you about bags of biscuits that Pillsbury makes, but you seem to know already. I decided to take a chance and try these since I live alone and a whole can of biscuits is just too much for me. I think they're great and I love them! And they're just perfect because I can make as many or as few as I want. And they taste good, too! Oh, and I hate the cans, too. I hate how they can be so difficult to open, I hate that they'll be sticky, and I hate that I have to make so many at one time. Which is why I LOVE those bags where I can make just one if I really wanted to!

Yeah, I've heard of them, but I haven't ventured to try. Maybe I will when I go grocery shopping next month. Everyone here seems to be raving about them, and it would be more economical than buying those stupid cans. The next day after I baked them, I ended up throwing two of the eight away because they had gotten hard. Even with two kids eight biscuits is just way too much.

Haha!!! i have had this happen to me so many times...I still jump everytime if open a can of biscuits...I rarely buy can biscuits anymore since i discovered those Pillsbury frozen ones you can take out individually, they are delicious, but i do not by the flacky ones , they have different kinds in Pillsbury..Get the regular ones and they taste just like MOM use to make...

I usually go with the ones in the bag sometimes they are available in bulk so I just grab clear plastic bag and scoop at home I will move the biscuits into a plastic container so I don't deal much with cans Don't remember if biscuit cans ever scared or annoyed me it's been a while and I don't like opening cans of any kind for some reason

OMG! I thought I was the only one who was a big baby when it came to stuff like that. I hate those cans. If there is anyone else in the house I will call them to come and open them. I HATE THE POP! I know it is gonna pop, but it still scares the crappola outta me. Blessings Marilyn

Actually I LOVE how it pops. I'm not sure how that could scare you. Well the frozen ones are very good. We got them before. Try those because they taste exactly the same. Or just make them and don't get scared of the pop. You should be expecting that, my friend. Don't be scared of the sound because you know it'll come. Thanks for your discussion. Pablo

I am with you on this one! I can't stand those cans that they come in. I thought that it was just me not being able to open them. You would think that just breaking the seam would be easy and they would open right up. I havent' seen the Pillsbury biscuits that you take out individually~ but I am a cheapy too:) I will probably just stick with the caned ones.

I like the biscuits per se, but like you said, they will pop when you least expect them to. There are biscuits that are not in the can. You can find them in the frozen foods section. They are individual, so you do not have to bake the whole thing. It is just two of us at my house, and a can of ten is way too much.
