I am planning to learn how to fix and assemble my own computer. so i can save money. but thats it. i would not want to learn how fix an electric fan, a television, a radio, or a cellphone. though there are schools out there that offer affordable fees for them and some are even for free. THough it will be cool to learn and fix my electric when it would not work or the air conditioner, but i don't have the patience now to learn them. but i would like to fix things up when i know how to. BUt as of now, i only see myself repairing and learning more on computer hardware. cause i find it cool. What else i should want to learn. i would want to learn how to repair my own jeans or sew my own dress as well. but it will take too much time too to learn them and i have no more time too for them.

Yes, I love to fix my own stuff and its not about saving money but the joy of being able to take care of it and troubleshooting it when its not working. I'm glad to learn about the basics of computer hardware coz I know what's wrong with it when it produces some unwanted sounds or when it simple won't turn on. Although at times on worst case scenarios and on appliances that I'm not familiar with I ask for help for someone more profession and pay him instead of making things more worse or unrepairable, lol.

yes me too. i feel more motivated to learn how to fix things because it is fun and not just because i can money. but initially though. my motive was to save money that i just learn to appreciate it more as i keep learning it and when i finally start to enjoy it that i don't any more count the time i put into something on learning or fixing it. and when i enjoy it that i tend to be more productive and every thing seems easy to do.

Much as I want to be jack of all trades to save some $ but unfortunately I have no eyes for repair works. When I dismantle a broken down item I will not be able to fix it back as I lost track where all the screws go and which item goes to which compartment and in the end the whole thing is jumbled up and have to be dump in the bin. It is better for me to send it to the repair shop for the specialist to handle.

I do love the feeling of achievement after repairing or fixing something of mine, and if i am not able to fix something, i feel no shame in calling for a professional as it is their job and profession. I spend alot of my time on computer so i learn alot about it. I would usually be able fix my own computer.

So many things today are cheaper to replace than repair. To repair most stuff you need to know some basics like plumbing, electrical, maybe some automotive and home repair. If the basics don't get the job done, there is always the library. Remember, simply because you never done something doesn't mean that you can't do it! How can you hurt it? It doesn't work now!!!! Do be careful though!!

When I was a child ,I like repairing everything, like wrist watch, furniture, electric equipments, etc. Actually ,I didn't really know how to fix them ,but I liked doing that and always try to find something to repair,i enjoyed that very much. But now,I have no any interests in repairing things anymore, occasionally I fix my computer.

I am a computer freak and I just love troubleshooting!! So, I am much capable of fixing any hardware issues with my system. And just like you, I don't want to get into the repairs of any other electric equipments. I've tried working on some of them, and I tell you, it was a real disaster!! Since then, I keep away from such things.
