Discussion topics-do they occur to you or do you plan?

Many of us start discussion topics. Do they suddenly occur to you or do you think about what you can post? Or do you get inspired by another discussion?
As far as I am concerned, in most cases they occur to me suddenly. This may be an outcome of writing a response to some other topic too. But most of the time, they would occur suddenly. It is also a case of being in a mood to start a topic. Sometimes I would just be lethargic and won’t feel like starting one but suddenly I would do it.
Dear friends, do share your thoughts on the subject.

Starting a discussion is just an impulse I would say .All of a sudden I feel like discussing some matter and wishing to know other people's opinion. So I just lay down my points and I feel very curious to know the other side of the coin.Awonderful way know the in and out af a topic is starting a discussion.

Like you most of the discussions occur to me suddenly. It may be on a topic that I was discussing with friends. Or something that I read somewhere. At times while travelling I get some ideas and just make a note of it and start a discussion the next day.

I am an eternally driven-by-instinct girl and always start a post on some immediate 'eureka' thing! I never found myself doing it just for starting a discussion. I rather take a stroll instead. this has been true in my real life also.

Only today when I was reading another response to this discussion I wanted to write how I get my inspiration when I am in my bath and here you are who gets inspiration during her stroll.Unfortunately, sometimes I am diligent enough to come out and copy the idea on to MS Word [when it is a very important idea that can bring forth thoughtful responses]] but most of the time it would vanish as quickly as it appeared.

Hi Kala!
Usually, when a thought strikes my mind, I note it down somewhere and explore the possibility if the same could be converted into a discussion. Some thoughts come to me intuitively or randomly. I try to be original and do not feel like copying ideas from other discussions. It is possible that in my subconscious mind ideas from some discussion keep depositing and those thoughts one day take the shape of a discussion.

Hi Kala!
I agree with you that there is no harm in taking clues and ideas from others' discussions.

Hi Kala,
Very rarely I started discussion quickly when I got ideas. Most of the time I keep on the same in mind and think whether to start or not, sometimes I feel laziness to comments back so I just wait or waste time. I don't think I started a discussion by getting idea from mylot itself. But we can easily get ideas from our day to life and observing others or watching programs etc. If a person having writing skills then it is very easy to make a subject into a discussion format. Presently I was not in touch with mylot for last one month so I can’t recollect more now.

Hi Sree! Thanks for the participation in this discussion. You would be having a good busy time tying up loose ends and getting things arranged after coming back. What you say is very true.We get ideas from day to day life and the conversation among people, minor incidents at home and office and what not!

My discussions topics originate from many things. Sometimes I'll see something on the TV or read something on the internet that inspires me. Sometimes I'll be participating in someone else's discussion and will see a statement or words that inspire me to go off on another tangent..... It could be any number of things really. It's human nature to be sporadic with thought and especially when it comes to inspiration! My moods definitely play a significant role too. Sometimes I'm feeling silly, other times serious.

Most times for me it is difficult for me to start discussions. I get ideas but it is difficult to put them doing in writing. I try to have a discussion whereby the users of mylot can relate to and therefore it would be easier for them to respond to it. But it is not always easy but I do try my best to start the discussions when I can.

It depends on my mood really. There are times when I just don’t feel like starting discussions and I am quite happy responding. I get ideas while doing other thing sometimes. I have a document on my computer that I add ideas onto for article and MyLot posts so whenever I have a light bulb moment I will note the idea and possibly use it later on. I rarely do posts as the inspirations come; it almost always seems to happen when I am away from my laptop!

Hi kala, I think it is a chain reaction. Like sometimes when I am busy doing something,a sudden idea comes as a great discussion topic and if I don't take it down I forget it after a while.I have had many such topics appear and disappear. So
Now i try to take down whenever think of something interesting to discuss. But one can get inspirations from anywhere, while going for a walk, while conversing with someone or while browsing through a magazine ...the hardest part is remembering it at the right time, while on mylot ..

Oh Kiran here is another similarity.I also think suddenly of some topics but they would be just fleeting thoughts and then I would forget them.I also wrote down one as soon as it occurred. It suddenly came out of the blue. But I did not post it.Thanks for sharing.

I always start topics suddenly.sometimes they come from what i was thinking that day when i am working.so it is not like i will sit and think about them to write.they will come to my mind randomly and i will try to know what others are thinking about that matter.some days i get lot of thoughts ...some days they don't.that's all.i think lot of people do posts like this.
