Freedom

What would you regard as freedom? Is it to be able to do what you want? What if another person/neighbour has more freedom, to the degree that it violates your comfort or security? I am thinking of criminals and the things they get away with now. Who is the most free, the abuser of freedom or the victim of that freedom? The wheel turns and the abuser gets what he deserves sometime in future. What also intrigues me is the freedom that freedom fighters fight for. Sometimes the outcome is worse than they hoped for, much worse. This is one phenomenon that seems to elude the average person. You may live in a 'free' country, but live in a fortified house. You may have freedom of speech, but surely still would still get into trouble for saying the wrong thing to someone else. In free countries you may also be very restricted in what you may do on your own property, like making a noise at the wrong time, etc. I doubt whether true freedom exists, whatever it is perceived to be.

Indeed a difficult concept. A pie in the sky. An elusive dream if you are inconsiderate of others.

freedom is just the chance to do things at your own time and convinience but freedom should not be over used, freedom fighters do fight fopr freedom not because of themselves or for their generation but for the generations unborn which will come after them, i believe freedom is a state of the heart

How many times, however did freedom fighters fight for 'freedom' for the future generation, only to leave a state of affairs much worse than the previous, because of incompetence of the new leadership. The new fat cats who soon forget where they came from or what they fought for originally.

What you raise here is a debate that runs thorought history. One's freedom is another's prison. I think that a person should be able to do anything, as long as what he does does not hurt his surounding. If this rule is violated, then this person rules out other's freedom, and thus his freedom is wrongly given.

Yes, to the selfish person it will be wrongly given. Such a person don't deserve freedom, because such e person creates a prison for someone else and even himself and is therefor a danger to society in the long run.

I think human should have a limit of their freedom.Because when we have too much freedom, other people will do not care about other people's freedom and will do whatever they want and like even it is a wrong thing. If people has no limit for their freedom,i believe nobody can stop a bad thing like robbery or abortion. Now abortion has been a crazy thing that people fight for it because they think all human should be let to abort their child. This should not happen and must be stop.I hope human will use their freedom by use their logic and knowledge.Without it,we will damage our human's institution.Thank you and have a nice day.

Thank you hanah87. The baby had no freedom in this case, only the mother who abused hers.

Humans indeed have limit to their freedom due to everyday chores and other things that limit the time we have for ourselves. Freedom is, what i think, a thing that human can do whatever he/she wants, whenever he/she wants, nobody is perfectly free and never will be perfectly free, until there is only time for ourselves, then we are fully free, nothing you do not want to do doesn't have to be done, that's freedom.

There are lots of things I'd like to do, whenever I'd get the chance. Problem is that these can be my downfall. It could be seemingly innocent things, but undermining my health and leaving me with illnesses, for one, chaining me to medicines, also robbing my freedom.

Human as we are sometimes we seem to abuse the freedom given to us. If I will be asked how I define freedom, my definition goes simply like this freedom is doing good unconditionally. Freedom is not given to us to do evil. That is my opinion.

Yes that is exactly what happens. Give man a pinky and he tends to yank the whole arm off. People doing good unconditionally is a trait we can kiss goodbye with regard to the average person. So man tends to stretch the borders of freedom to the level of being evil.

each guy should own his freedom himself.but it depends on the law local, and the views around.so we can take our action to enjoy ourselves but do not disturb others.every human has the equal rights!
