Do you pick up stray kittens? Do you think people who do this are kind?

A wise man said that the soul of a nation depends upon how well it treats its animals. What do you think of this adage? Is it true? Is being kind to animals a reflection of your treatment of other people? Does it follow that if you're cruel to animals , most probably you're cruel to people also? What is your take on this? Thanks for any contribution.

Animals have life like humans too. Seeing a stray kittens in the street or elsewhere make me to think if i bring home or not, considering that i have some cats and kittens some years go back. I have not yet do picking up, but i am trying to be kind to my cats and kittens at home. Being kind to them can be your reflection how you treat human too, definitely, but there are some who is bad in pets or animals but kind in human. It is in the kind of animals too that if it is poisonous or deadly we are scare and we think we are going to kill these poisonous or deadly animals.

People who do this are definitely kind to animals. When I was a little girl we had two cats at home to help us get rid of the mice as we were stocking rice and so we need extra help from cats. One night, we were going to go to bed when my mother heard some noise in the front yard. She took her torch and found 3 little kittens dumped by some people. They didn't know it was exactly what we needed. We went downstairs and took the little kitties, put them in a box and took care of them. They were the loveliest kittens I have ever had. I don't think being kind to animal is a guarantee a person will also be kind to his/her fellow man. Some people prefer the friendship of animals than men because animals don't turn against them except for snakes and other beasts nor suitable for domestication and to be a pet.

I would love to pick them up but are we gonna pick each and everyone of them up.Sometimes we have to be reasonable to do things as well.It would be cruel on us to keep all the kittens which are wandering around. And hence, a person who are cruel to animal will be really cruel to humans as well, because the foundation of care of a little thing can't be taken care what more to say bigger things.

Oh my, This reminds me of some one i Know (Greeneagle24). I realized now that he's not just picking them up but also looking for them first. he just got a new kitten, but sadly i discovered too that he's also throwing those who aren't that good to takecare of anymore. recently, he got 4 kittens left out by street children and after he got a yellow one, which was his favorite color, he dumped off the younger kittens to the other house. probably he has limits. i found out because i saw him last night and secretly followed him.he walks fast and looking back and forth. . but he told me once, that quote "if his family were open to animals, then he would more than one cat by now" quote

we have 4 adult cats and 1 teenage cat.1 or our adult cats was a stray that we took in.she gave birth to lots of kittens.the 3 cats we have now were her kittens.the teenage cat(teenage, because she's not a kitten anymore, but not yet an adult cat) we have is a stray who followed my brother home.my brother also adore cats, that's why we took her in.I believe that people who are considerate to creatures that cannot voice out their feelings (animals and plants) are kind.we are the most intelligent beings on earth.we are the stewards of all the creatures on earth.

Hi Jen! Much as I would have liked to help stray kittens, as they look so cute and innoncent, but practically I am unable to do it because of space and time constraints. I think those who help nurture stray dogs and kittens are very kind hearted persons and they do great service to the animals. Serving animals, when they cannot speak, and understanding them is a great job.

I think that is true....with children however I wouldn't judge them by it as sometimes I have seen a child be somewhat cruel to an animal until they realize that it has feelings.....but yes......if you treat an animal good then the possibility is that you are a good person.

Hi there! I'm not a cat lover and I have dogs for pets but I pity those animals who don't have homes and are hungry. I did pick up one stray kitten last year and joined him with the other stray cats in my backyard. It's been 15 years now that I have been taking care of them. I give them food and made shelter for them in my backyard. I don't know of the adage that kindness to animals is a reflection of your kindness to humans but I try to be good to other animals cause I have pet dogs that I love very much. I don't want my pets to suffer the same fate someday of not having a home and getting hungry, with no one to pity them and offer even a small amount of food. It's like I'm hoping for a good karma for my pets. Ciao!

I do believe that how you treat an animal is how you would treat a human. I love animals and I have always brought home as a child animals that were strays. Now as I have gotten older I have 2 cats and both to me were strays so to speak. I love them very much and I actually have a discussion about my new cat Gucci. I think I will go find the link and add it here for you to see a picture of her so is a cutie. I also feel that some people might have issues with animals too so I give them a little leeway if they feel uneasy about it. So with all that being said yes I think animals are imporant too but there is a time and place for everything. here is my discuss about Gucci http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2031713.aspx

i am a hard core animal lover!and so i ahve picked up many stray kittens and puppies off the streets and got them home!and well whats wrong in doing so?they arent theives that you should be scared of getting them home!its not like the next morning you get up ..and u find out that the kitten has run away with your lcd tv!what i really mean to say is why not do what is in our reach?why not help the strays and get them home and provide them a tinp space in your house?doesnt cost you a million bucks to do that!infact u'll just earn uncontional love and affection from dese little angels!so there is definately nothing worng about petting starys and getting home..infact thats kind noble and so caring a deed! so people..love animals and help them as much as you can!:)
