Obama wants to take over our health care! The Government can not handle it....

United States

I have been so afraid of this since I heard about them wanting to do this years ago. When have you known of the government doing anything that would actually save us money or be really any good for us for that matter? I personally can not think of any time. In fact everything has always gone up in cost!! The government can not to right the things they are handling now. This move WILL NOT benefit us at all. I received and email telling me of an up coming event that will air on ABC tv. I hope and pray what the President wants to do will NEVER happen here in the US, but he is bent on having this bill go through. This event is only being covered by one tv station. Do you remember the times when this has happened and only select questions were put to the President? The questions that would not hurt the bill that he is trying to push? I can remember this happening, I just can not point out a specific item. Do you want the government taking over our health care? I do not!!! When have they taken over anything that it did not cost us more money? Do you want them to control what we can and can not have done as far as hospital stays or needed surgeries? I do not!!! They know nothing about me. How long would it take for them to decide that I can have something done if I need it? Since when has anything been done in government that has really been a benefit to us? Never, not really. Well, actually I will give the former President and Obama credit for the rebates we were given. Below you will see the letter I got in my email today. Please, please contact the new in your area or here that will be covering this infomercial and ask some real important questions that we do need answers to. Lets try to make sure that this is kept on the up and up. If many of us lift our voices we will be heard. Do this for your children, for your parents, your spouse, for yourself, and for all of the people that you know. I do apologize for this being a long post. My email letter; Cheryl, Brent Bozell Message to the MRC Action Team Regarding ABC's ObamaCare Infomercial President Obama is trying to put our nation on the fast track to socialized health care, and on June 24, the ABC network will help him sell this bill of goods to the American people. Next Wednesday, ABC News will transform the White House into their newsroom for what has been described as an unabashed infomercial promoting the Democrat agenda—more specifically, government-run health care. ++ ABC News Emphatically Rejects Opposing Views ABC News has abandoned all pretense of journalistic integrity in its bid to be the administration’s official salesman for ObamaCare. ABC flatly rejected Republican National Committee Chief of Staff Ken McKay’s request to add opposition views to ensure all sides of the health care debate were represented in the “town hall” forum. Not only that, ABC News Vice President Kerry Smith responded by saying, “ABC News alone will select those who will be in the audience asking questions of the President.” As if that wasn’t enough, ABC then rejected an ad from a conservative group trying to counter the liberal health care agenda. They clearly are not interested in a balanced presentation on this subject. Void of opposing views, this “news special” becomes nothing more than an extended infomercial designed to scare and manipulate the American people into supporting a trillion-dollar government takeover of the highest quality health care system in the world! ++ Hold ABC News Accountable Cheryl, health care is an issue of life and death. If you don’t want politicians and faceless bureaucrats making your personal health care decisions – which medical procedures you need, which treatments are affordable, which medications you can have – then stand with us and demand the media present a balanced view on how to reform health care. That’s why we are asking MRC Action team members to do two things TODAY. First, take a moment right now to call ABC News executives and demand balance in the health care debate. Ask them why they won’t allow the conservative point of view on this show. Second, click here to submit questions to be asked at this “town hall” on Wednesday – questions the liberal media aren’t asking. Questions like: · How much will your plan cost? · How will it be paid for? · Can you name one example of the government taking over an industry and the costs falling as a result? Click here to hear MRC founder Brent Bozell’s exclusive message to the MRC Action team explaining why we all need to act NOW to stop what he calls “one of the worst examples I’ve seen in all my years of observing media bias.” Here is your contact information: David Westin President, ABC News (212) 456-6200 Anne Sweeney President, ABC-Disney Television Group (818) 569-7700 anne.sweeney@disney.com ++ Alert your Friends and Family A firestorm of protest can bring about quick change. That’s why after taking action, we’re asking you to forward this update to 25-30 friends and family members. Let them know what is happening, and how they can play a pivotal role by calling as well. President Obama has already taken over the banks, and General Motors … now he’s using ABC television to ram his socialist health care plan down our throats unabated. Make your calls, and forward this important message today! Thank you in advance for taking action with the MRC. David P.S. To help you track all the news surrounding ObamaCare and the liberal media slant on health care reform, we created a special website where we will post all the latest news and stories in the coming weeks. Please visit it often to stay on top of this life or death issue. Thank you all for taking the time to read this and thank you all for doing what you feel is the right thing for your family and mine.

here in ontario canada, the government does control the health care and some people will tell you its horrible because of the wait times but i think it is a good system because it is free to see a doctor or stay in the hospital, both my hubby and i couldnt afford if for this.

I'm from Canada too cher, and it's not all free health care. Especially now with the introduction of user fees. But still and all our Canadian system is worlds better than most countries, especially the States.

I do not think your health care is free. Look at the taxes you pay from your salaries. Is much of that not going to your health care program? I am really so worried over this move. I have insurance and I pay a bunch for it, so this would not help me. My daughter has no insurance at all and can not afford to see a doctor or anything. I try to pay when it is really needed. But even I can not do this as the cost are too much and my daughter is very sick, she has heart problems, seizer disorder and a few other things. Thank you for responding.

I have so many friends in the U.S. and frankly I'm getting really worried for them all the more I hear about this man! So moonbeam, when you come to Alberta and we meet up on the 11th, I am kidnapping you and taking you home with me. You are no longer allowed to live in the U.S.!

My dear friend, you may not have to kidnap me. I am so worried about this. The government already in taxes one way or another gets over 60% of what we earn in our salaries. They have their hands in so many things and they don't manage anything right or to our benefit that they do now. I am so down right now and upset by this that I am crying over what they are doing. People just do not know the ramifications of this move. If they had any idea they would shout to the roof tops.

It's odd that the people on medicaid or state insurance does not have to pay a single cent for health care. But the poor older folks on medicare have to pay for a secondary insurance that don't even pay for everything, they have to pay for the medicare every month, the have to pay co-pays at the doctor office, hospital, and for any tests they have to have done, and have to pay for many medicines as medicare does not cover it. Every year they "give" them a 10 percent raise...ha what a joke that is because they charge more for the medicare insurance than they get in their little cost of living raise. These people paid in all of their life to have this to take care of them when they were too old to work. Now they have to choose between medicine and food. It's getting worse as the utility bills have gone up so much. All they can now afford is to pay the bills forget going to the doctor or even getting medicines they need. They can not do it. Even if they own their house and have no house payment or rent, they just can not live on what they get. Some get $400 and something a month, some $800 and something which is what my mother gets, and others get more but not much. Who can honestly say they can live on that a month? Not many. Moms power bill is $250 a month and she freezes herself in the winter and burns up in the summer. I worry about her but I don't have much money either. I wish I could pay her bills and buy her food, plus she has car insurance and up keep on it. The license plate alone is over $200 a year. It's too hard on these people and others too.

And here Obama promised that he would equalize the medicare program so no one was left behind. I understand your fear. And as the population ages and the drain on medical care increases, I can only see the situation getting worse. Your population is so large and the need so great, but I think the government is taking way too much from the wrong people. Tax the corporations more. Turn unclaimed lotto winnings over to the medicare program. Cut out user fees. There are solutions, but the government just won't see them!

Canadians are happy with Government Health Care since 1984. Its not perfect, there is waiting time before appointments, and some surgeries, but if it was perfect America would copy it.The wonderful thing about our Government health care is, No One is left behind, even the homeless on the city streets are fully covered. No one has ever lost their home, or their life savings through no fault of their own when they became too ill to work, and had to be hospitalized. America's medicine is out of control, and out of this world expensive. There are Corporations, Doctors, and many others cheating the system. Meanwhile thousands of lives are ruined by untreated diseases which the poor and even some middle class Americans cannot afford to get treated. I can't imagine Canadians allowing such a situation to exist- we fixed it way back in 1984.

That is good for you all. It would be good for some here, like you said the ones with no insurance or health care at all. The thing is here we have state assistance from many of the ones that don't get any money or little money, all of the children are covered on this if parents can not afford health care. It does not cost a dime for anything they take advantage of. The ones that work pay taxes to cover this already. We pay over 60% in taxes now for the government to use as it wishes and we really have no say over any of it. They take the money and raise the amount anytime they want to. hat I fear is that our taxes will go up again to cover this as well. We can barely make it as it is because of the Federal and State taxes that are paid. Not to mention the high taxes on everything we purchase. Most here are forced to live from pay check to pay check and then many times or most times not having enough money to pay the necessary bills much less for anything we need or want. Your government is probably more affective in taking care of the things they do take care of than ours has proven to be.

That is sad what is happening there and people here think the way it is there is what we need. The only problem is they only hear the good things and nothing about the other stuff. The co pays, the extra costs, the long waits in hospitals to get the care. The care that is not up to standards there would be if they just had insurance. And who knows what else.

Barehugs, I'm Canadian and it's not strictly true that our Health Care isn't costly. I currently live in Saskatchewan. Last year my son came home with cancer. It nearly cost my hubs and I our home to get him better with all the out of pocket expenses. It certainly ate up ALL our savings which were considerable. I do agree though that our system is better than average. But as more doctors go into private practice in clinics, and more hospitals close or are coverted to long term care for our aging population, younger generations are going to and are find it harder and harder to get the prompt cost efficient care they need. My son lives in Ontario and has to pay for all his 'follow up' tests since his cancer just to make sure it hasn't come back. So no, our system isn't perfect and frankly it's getting worse.

Hi,moondancer,,I am afraid that there will be many people who will not be able to afford health care if (President Obama)gets his way..For people on medicare things have already went up,prescription insurance and co pays.I don't think that most of us will be able to buy our medicine or be able to go to the Doctor or hospital. There are so many that have to choose between buying medicine or paying bills or eating already. It is going to get much worse. So many people are losing their jobs or getting their hours cut,how will they be able to pay for things. They will not be able to.People should boycott ABC News and Disney..They should stop watching anything on ABC..Stop helping them make millions of dollars..

I agree. They should not be allowed to vote themselves big pay raises..They should let the people vote on things that they spend money on(of course that will never happen)If it was up to me they would be getting wages like everyone else and I am not talking about the ones who get big wages..I think the President should stop trying to take over everything..He gave General Motors all that so called bail-out money and then forced them to bankrupt so he could takeover the company and to others who took the money and they gave it to there ceo's for bonuses and other things. He should have let all those company's go bankrupt to start with.
