Are men competitive in nature??? What do they compete in??? Against whom??? Why do they compete??? I think men are very competitive... They like competing with their friends more than people they don't know. This is because they always want to prove that thy are superior and better than the other. They generally compete in terms of work, salary, girl friends... Thats all I got, would love more views on this... specially from men :)

This seems to be a cultural thing. Neither men nor women are competitive in every society, so there has to be some cultural aspect to it. I thin we raise our children to be competitive.

Women are driven in the same way, especially as the world matures and determines that the difference in gender has no real relationship to the intelligence of ability of a person!

I think men are driven to achieve by the fear that otherwise they will never make a mark. Which is why they are so competitive... Maybe it is psychological, an inherent need to leave your mark behind.

We all have this thinkin of competitiveness whether at home with neighbors, in the office with collegues, in the society for status or with ourselves to prove to be someone better. So it exist everywhere and with everyone, sometimes we acknowledge it and sometimes we forget this aspect we have.

It has been in the nature of men to be competetitive. Society expects them to earn the money for the family. So, by being competitive, they have the driving force to do more for the family to survive. And I think that it makes them feel good to excel in every field they join , it is a good for their ego.
