I went to the market and as i parked my car, a small boy came running to me for money he was in total rags and looked like he was hungry so i gave him a few coins and the very next moment he runs to an elderly women in similar clothes very dirty sitting in one corner of the market area and gives her the money and then he starts crying so she pushes him down and leaves the place. This boy goes inside the market to the vegetable vendors and gets a tomato and starts eating it.. what i want to know is, if next time any kids come up to me for money should be given the money or not ??

I never give any cents to beggars. They have their own hands, they can work for their living. They must not make poverty or education as an excuse. Many people became successful and become rich besides these factors. People have to work for themselves, and not live because of others. I'm saying this not because I have a family who can support me as I am still dependent, but because in my belief, we are created by God with our hands, legs and brain. We should make use of His gifts to make us grow. And there are even people who unfortunately were not given hands or legs but they still are able to manage to continue living, through the use of their minds. They amaze me for that. Beggars are just spoiled by other people. We should not tolerate these activities. Alms do not solve this common problem in the society, or maybe it could but just for a short time. We should try to send them to social welfare and development agencies. let them correct these people, and let them change these people.

i wont say that you should or shouldn't give someone some extra change. but just know a few coins comes a longs way for somebody who really needs it. && if you gave that little boy some money, you did it out of the kindness of your heart. that's all that really matters.

It is racket many times. The people who pose as beggars often hire poor children. They send them to beg so that people get sympathetic to their appearance. It came in paper.

Acutally its very hard to make out what people actually want, many of them really make money for some other reasons but very few are there who need money for feeding their families.I think may be the boy gave the money to his mother so that she can make something to feed her family for days one time meal.I think it is hard for us to decide but if we give some coins to them that really wont bother our financial status anyways.

Let your heart decide. I know times are tough these days and people are making all this rackets just to make some money. If you think that giving money to them would help then give some. If you think that it's just a racket, then you probably just give them some food and not money.

Now, I feel guilty for what have I done before. I have bumped to beggars a lot since I live in one of the poorest districts here in Manila. Actually, being able to see a beggar is very common in our place. There were times that I give money to them and yet sometimes I don't. Maybe it's the influence of my friends or other people that I shouldn't give sympathy to those that were craving for one. I didn't mistreat them but I have shouted at them once. You know it's very annoying when someone keeps on pulling your shirt or keeps on tapping you at your back to just focus your attention to them. But my answer for your question would be yes, we should give the less fortunate ones what they don't have or at least share them a part of what you have. Thanks a lot for your post.^^ It made me realize how bad a person have I become. =(

You are very Kind-hearted so that you gave him a few coins. It's nice to help the needy people. But there is a chance for other to misuse the kindness. One kind of thing has happened to you. If you have money, it is worthy to help others. At the same time, you may have asked him and bought him some food, rather than giving money- because it avoids the misuse!
