Are new users usually not getting any responses?

I think that you need to develop friendships and then your friends will respond to your discussions. I started two when I first joined and only had a couple of responses, it was a little disappointing. Now I basically just respond to others. As you spend more time here more people will look at your discussions and your friends will see your discussions on their profile pages and answer. Good luck, just hang in there and keep posting.

Initially I also shared your feeling.I was also not getting many responses to my discussion while i could see lots of other discussions getting more than 50 responses.But then couple of my posts did get some 40 odd responses.That definitely upped my confidence.The key is to post interesting discussions on some thing that everyone has a say on.You just need to grab the attention.But in order to do that you don't have to know rocket science.Just some silly things you observed can pretty much do the job.Keep your eyes and ears wide open and you will definitely have no problem in getting responses. And I bet this discussion will be getting you a lot of responses.. Best of luck. And keep mylotting..

Hi happy, The answer to your question is NO. The new comers dont get much response. I am still a new comer so i dont get many either. it is like a gang u make on mylot that give response to each other. The one who referred me here told me he started a discussion Can you forget your first love? when he was new and he got 6 responses. The same discussion was started by someone much older than him after a week he got over 50. Now the guy who referred me is old here so he does get lots of responses and even when i chk his responses i find there are set people who would usually respond to his discussions .. so i think ur right in thinking what ur thinking.

you don't need to be popular first to get responses but if you read everything upon joining you'd realize that you can request friendships and if you do this some of them would activate your notify button on. this is the easiest way to get discussions to respond to for every mylotter. you'd feel alien at first but just continue requesting friendships and once you hit a jackpot topic, which was coffee in my case, the only question would be is your dedication to try to answer each and every discussion posted or comment on each and every response you'd get. it's constant everywhere and anywhere. the new one is the elephant in the room. ..
