in summer? winter? or do you use it all year round? I had to replace mine due to that bug chunk I accidentally took out of it the other week. And now that we have our heatwave of 90's it's a definate must! It saves us on our gas bill & our electric bill so the a/c isn't fighting the oven all the time. So I use mine alot in the summer. But I do use it all year round especially in summer & on days when we have activities after school ect and I won't have time to make a hot meal & I can't afford to spring for dinner out.

All year, but I too love it for when we have things to do that evening and I won't have much time for dinner. I don't really plan crock pot meals, I plan our meals around our budget, and certain things are just crock pot dinners like soups and stews, spaghetti sauces and meatballs, things like that. Whenever we have something of that nature, we use the crockpot.

I use it more in the winter when I want nice hot meals. In the summer I eat a lot of cold stuff. I used to eat a lot of frozen dinners from the microwave in the summer until I found out how much salt there was in them, so now I eat salads and sauteed vegetables and stuff. In the winter I make chili, soups like navy beans and ham, stuff like that. In the summer hot foods like soup just don't appeal much to me.

Micro dinners aren't very good most of the time none the less like you said the salt & I'm sure the fat content is up there. I eat alot of cool things in summer too. I love salad in summer especially once everything is ripe in our garden! YUM! Too bad mayo wasn't on sale as it used to be I used to live off alot of pasta salads when I was younger too in summer.

I use my crock pot mainly in the winter months. I do use it occasionally in the summer. I like to make a hot soup for cold days. It does help to keep the gas bill down since I like to cook my soup all day long.

I honestly have never thought about making soup in my crock pot. I dunno why though, probably cause I like to make huget batches that last for days & the crock isn't big enough to do that.

well, we probably use it a bit more in the winter because I love hot soup, but we were just beginning to experiment with things like roasting chicken in it (low water crockpot cooking) before we went on the diet.

I probably use it slightly more in the winter, because in the summer we often have the grill as an option. I love grilled food, and that is another way to keep from heating up the house. But I do use the crock pot in the summer too. I actually have 3 crockpots in three different sizes. I always use crockpots for parties, and in the summer you can bet I have some baked beans in the crock pot at every party. During winter parties I will sometimes have all three of them going at once.
