To use or Not to use Make up

Well I have always been into makeup since I was 14. But like most parents I wasn't allowed to wear it. But as soon as I was out of the house I put it on. The whole thing. Eyeliner and everything. I thought I looked good. But my eyes always watered really bad and i couldn't figure out why. It has been that way all my life. Until just recently I found out why my eyes were watering so bad. I have always know that I was allergic to cashmere. But I had no idea they used it in makeup. But it seems that cashmere is a main ingredient in eyeliner and mascara. The only mascara that doesn't contain cashmere is Dior. But the draw back to that is paying 22 dollars for mascara. And they say that it should be changed every 3 months since I have allergies. So I have given up mascara and eyeliner all together.

It is a good idea for you to stop using those makeup products with ingredients that cause your allergies. You can't afford all tose discomforts for the sake of beauty. So far, I have no known allergies, and am glad to wear makeup everyday (yup, I wear them even at home). However, I always make sure to use makeup that are for sensitive skin... if not, I'd rather wear mineral makeup... that's gentle to the skin too. Makeup is supposed to make us look good, by enhancing what we have. It's just sad, that some of us have reactions to them. I hope you find a mascara or liner that can suit your needs without causing any allergic reactions.

It's irritating to me not to wear eye make up cause my eyes are small.

I can relate. I have the typical asian eyes, and it's hard when I don't have eyeliners and mascara... although I opt for mascara more and can do without the liners on some days (I just don't have talent in lining my eyes, I know it's weird). I am not sure which cosmetic brands t=don't have cashmere... but I'll be on the look out and will let you know if I find one :-)

hi cookie! I love using makeup, and you can see it clearly that,It has a great differences after you use them,it makes you more beautiful, more attractive, and have more confidence!Maybe that is why women are always addicted to them.,although it has something bad for our skin. I think every woman had to learn to use makeups, though you donn't have to use it every day!The most important thing is to use makeups which is of good quality and remember to wash it out at night.happy mylotting!

Yes, I like to use makeup everyday and get upset that I can't use eyeliner and mascara like everyone else.

Giving up mascara and eyeliner was a good decision.. why? because the allergies you might get will cost you more than those make up products.. i am quite sure you can still look pretty without eyeliner and mascara... =)

this question is subjective...many people prefer to make up while some dont...it is their wish whether to add artificial beauty or not...but all i saw is that i hate make up...adding creams of few inches wont show someone very beautiful.. beauty is not skin deep...it comes from within...as said some of them are allergic to make up and so they move away from it...but i believe that make is unnecessary..sorry if iam wrong.. happy mylotting

You are right about beauty being the person and not what is on the outside. But there are many people that look markedly better with makeup than without. And there are women that wear too much makeup making them look like a clown. I have always wore just enough to hide imperfections. Like I said my eyes are tiny so I was wearing only eye liner and mascara to just show some definition to my eyes. But after a hour of rubbing my eyes it only made me look like I had been in a fight.

If you were allergic to some makeups, then by all means give up on those kinds of products and use such herbal eyeliners which I am now using. But i don't know about Cashmere that you are saying. I got this site that you can check out on herbal eyeliner which I am using now. Perhaps you can consider their other products too http://www.shahnaz.in/product_kajal.asp this is not a ref link or any blogsite ok ... I am an avid makeup user. I have been using makeup for the past three years specially when I was in the Performing Arts. But now that I am a stay at home wife, I only use eyeliner and lipstick and dab some powder for my face, unlike before I used to complete my makeup routine using my favorite mineral powders. Anyway I do hope I did share my part here. Happy Mylotting.

that means that when it comes to makeup the only brands worth spending on are the ones that are labeled hypoallergenic, noncomedogenic and in my case (the seasonal) fragrance free products. i suggest you buy these products. any doctor would approve of makeup as long as it has all of the above traits i mentioned.

The only kind of make up that I ever use is Bare Minerals, and that is because I am allergic to most make up out there. A lot of foundations, especially the liquid stuff, makes my skin break out.

Hi cookiecrumbles Iam not a make-up fan so i don't have much to say about the whole make-up situation. Not a make up fan doesn't mean that i don't like it it's that it doesn't matter if i were it or not.Its all the same on my part. But i don't think its wrong that people are using makeup and all and i do fine it nice on other people and when i were it too. In your situation if your allergic you should stop using it and use another brand that don't have cashmere if you still can't live without your make up of course ;-p.cheers!!

Hi there and smile. I always love wearing eyeliner too, but while i was reading your post i think i can relate your "eye allergies experience". I thought that i was having an eye problems because the last few weeks i got eye irritations, redness and all. It was started getting itchy while i was washing my face and when i look at the mirror i noticed theres still a bit of eye liner near my eyes. So i clean it but i know it didnt stop itching that time. The next morning i still wear eyeliner and i got the same problem. Then i think i wont use eyeliner for a week and my eyes felt good. No redness, no irritations. Maybe its because of the eyeliner im wearing? ITs still new, i got a new one too but it irritates me too. But i love my eyeliners

Like you, I am allergic to some makeups, so I always try the ones that say hypo-allergenic. I am able to wear Almay mascara. I don't know if it has cashmere in it or not, but the whole line is made for sensitive skin. Mica used in some shadows and lipsticks really bothers me.

It is nice to use make up in our faces. Specially during occasions to look us more beautiful than ever. It can adds more gorgeous to us to be seen by audience in the stage or meetings. It is very presentable as long as you will use it accurately. But if you have the allergies on it . You will use things hypo allergenic that will fit to your skin care.Ask in the store or clinic before buying out the product. T have you safe in your beauty.

Hi, I'm not into cosmetics too much. I like very simple look. Therefore, I use a lil lipstick not on daily basis but once awhile. I found the compact powder is the most sensative towards me. Once I used a cheap compact powder, and I got this prickly heat like all over my face. Since then, I get very little cosmetics and I make sure it's branded. Now I found MAC is my best match!

i don't think any girl can completely stop using make up..thats like a hyperbole!but excessive use of make up is not the right way to go about it either.also we must be very careful in choosing our cosmetics..wheter you are allergic to its ingridients and so on..so with a little bit of research and studying...make can be used minimally..:)
