I'm so happy that my hubby has finally quit smoking last week. It is difficult but he did it! If I were him, I would be proud to say "I have quit smoking!!!" Would you be happy that you can quit smoking to save you life, your money! What do you think?

I think quiting smoking is more of a process because your body accumulates all the chemicals and develops a dependency on them so even though he says he's quitting or has quit it really depends on determination and a good support network as with any addiction. You sound like your ready to be there for him every step of the way and just be prepared for any irritability and any weight gain and is likely to occur and don't take anything too personally. Its possible to stop cold turkey my ex did it and stopped smoking for 6 years after having a frightening experience where he said his face felt like it was on fire and his lungs were and that's all he said the night it happened but he was pretty shaken up but my assumption is that he has symptoms of a minor heart attack.

Yes... I receive his frustration quite often during the time when he was quitting smoking even now but it's okay, I know quitting smoking is good for him, I will take it. The other thing is he is really gaining weight because of it but we all know it is not an excuse to pick up smoking again.

Thats good because he shouldnt be smoking anyway sine smoking kills a lot of people at an early age. Wich is why I wouldnt want to have a wife that smokes I would say if you want to marry me then you have to quit smoking. But it will be hard and he might have mood swings wich I hear a lot of people do but hopefully it will work out.

Hello mermaidivy, Well, it is not easy to quit smoking! I remember how hard for my late father to quit smoking. He did it slowly and try to replace the intention of smoking by eating preserved fruits and sweets. I pitied him but at the end, he made it. I am lucky that my husband doesn't smoke and I, myself can't stand the smell and the smoker!
