Favourite Biopic?

The film industry loves to churn out regular biopics on famous people and I am sure we will see one on Michael Jackson in the not too distant future. But which biopic have you enjoyed the most so far? For me I really enjoyed the movie Malcolm X, not only does it feature a brilliant performance from Denzel Washington but I learned a lot about an era of history which I knew very little about.

"Men of Honour" starring Cuba Gooding Jnr and Robert de Niro, about the first African American US Navy diver.

I like "Men of Honour" as well, I find it a very inspiring story. If you have it on DVD it's worth watching the special feature documentary about Carl Brashear as it is very interesting.

I've only seen it on TV, not on DVD. I'll have to look out for that. Very inspiring stuff, just shows what you can accomplish if you just keep at it.

Actually there was a movie about the Jackson family, covered them right up through Michael's popular days. Not sure I watched it till the end, I can't remember, but I did watch the part about their childhood anyways... messed up! That's all I can say, dad used to hit them with sticks off the tree just for not rehearsing correctly. I enjoy seeing biopics and movies based on a true story. Can't say I have a favorite. I've most recently watched the Ernie Davis story. I let my 12 year old son stay up with us and watch it too so he could understand what the world was like back in the days of segragation.

I remember seeing one on the early years of the Jacson familly but not one which went up to Michael's popular days, I probably missed that bit of it. Well I had no idea who Ernie Davis was until I just did some research following your comment and the movie is exactly the sort of thing which interests me as it looks both educational and inspiring. Will be adding it to my next Amazon order.
