I was curious to see how long it took other mylotters to feel confident to drive? I am not really asking about the length of getting your license I am speaking of feeling pretty confident about your style and so forth? Let me in detail if at all possible. Thanks and happy mylotting as well.

Well, I learned to drive when I was 16 years old. My father taught me how to drive since in some places where there are no vehicles, usually private roads in our area, he would ask me to take over the wheel. I did get my license when I was 18, but I had the confidence to drive on my own when I was 21. So overall, it took me about 3 years to have full confidence. But obviously its not literally 3 years considering that when I was 18, I did nit drive often.

I think most of the drivers here in our country have been educated on driving by parents, friends. There are driving schools but its more preferable to have a teacher that you can trust and you do not have spend much money for the learning. Well, drive safely always and best to you!

My dad started teaching me at about 13 years old but I did not get my actually licnese until I was 18 years old. We as a family could not afford the whole drivers ed school thing so I just waited until I was 18 years old. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and happy mylotting to you as well.

I learned how to drive when i was 13years old and i really don't find it hard because i just learned it by observing on how my dad drives. Take note, i learned my driving back in Philippines and so back then, most cars are in manual transmission.

I took a driver course in high school and that is how I learned how to drive. I learned pretty quick how to drive but I forget how long the course actually was. I could drive but there was alot of parking tips I still needed to learn, etc.

Yeah it takes awhile to learn huh? I guess that it all depends on the person. I think whenever you are ready you are ready. I think I was about 18 when I got my license but than it took me about a year to feel very comfortable. Take care and happy mylotting to you as well.

Hi there! I learned how to drive after graduating from college. I was 20 years old then. It didn't took me long enough to learn and it was a pretty exciting experience learning how to drive. It only took me a week to learn city driving cause I was so doughty and very eager to learn that time. I still remember my instructor often reminding me not to go too fast cause I am still a student driver. But before I enrolled at a driving school, I was already driving inside our village so I wasn't completely uneducated how to drive. After a week of going to a driving school, I agreed with my brother that I will be his driver for a week. I'll drive for him to work and fetch him so I can practice. I need to polish my driving skills and be familiar on the street. I have been driving for more that 10 years now. So far and thank God, no accident has happened to be yet. I know I'm a fast driver but a careful one. Ciao!

Yeah I have a lead foot myself but I have been in a few accidents. I think sometimes we are in the wrong place at the wrong time. I love to drive too but my dad taught me because my family did not have enough money to pay for the classes when I was younger. I think my dad taught me a lot and for that I am greatful. Take care and happy mylotting to you as well.

Of course I did take the driver's ed course in high school, but basically my dad taught me how to drive. He is a great (or was back in the day) defensive driver. He taught me stuff about driving that my driving instructor didn't tell me. I also started driving when I was about 15. So by the time I was 16 and took my DL test I felt totally confident. I also felt confident because I drive now the way I drove at 16 (minus the radio blaring). Have a super day.

I drove really young to and my dad taught me. He was a driving teacher back in the day. I think I first got behind the wheel when I was like 12 or 13 with my dad of course. I love the radio on when I am driving too but now that I have gotten older I try to not play it everytime because sometimes we need to hear what is going on around us. Take care and happy mylotting to you.
