It's OK To Talk To Strangers Now?

I woke up this morning and when I turned on the television there was a show that comes on once a week on that tells about new, unusual, etc. Websites. Today they were speaking about a site that is for chatting. This "Chat Room", so to speak, is different in that you do not have to sign up to use it, there are No profiles, there are no names, no information about where you are from, no photos, no webcams, or anything that will personally identify you to anyone, Unless of course during the chat you are having You Choose to divulge such information. When you go to the site you just click on the button to begin a chat and you are taken to a chat page where you just start talking to a complete stranger! In fact the only "name" identifiers while you are talking, so that you know who said what, are the words: Me and Stranger I was curious, so when I got up I went to the site and had a little chat myself! In fact I actually I had two chats, but the first one that I started chatting with was a real Loony Tunes that I soon disconnected with as was my choice. I then began another chat, thinking: "lets just see if they are all this way", and I must say the second one was a very intelligent, 16 year old male, or so he said, but I believe him as he chatted like a 16 year old male but who knows? Any way, we had a very nice, clean conversation. We talked about what time it was, the weather, how he liked school, what he wanted to be when he grew up, what types of things he likes to do and what types of food he enjoyed etc.. Having said that! I also noticed how easy it would have been for me to get any information out of him that I wanted to had I been so inclined...AND I WAS NOT as I am definitely Not a predator! The message given on this site is that it is OK to talk to strangers...And of course if the site is used properly by everyone I have to agree it can be very interesting...But! there are always those "bad people"/predators out there that are just waiting to take advantage of the naive! Of course talking to strangers goes against all that most of us have been taught while we were growing up, but none the less I found that there were thousands upon thousand chatting at the same time that I was. Now to my point about all of this! While I will not be using the site anymore as I already have enough people that I Know to chat with, what do you think? Do you think it is any safer to chat on a site such as this one that I have been rambling on about because there are no photos, profiles etc. or do you think it is just as dangerous as any of the other chat rooms because when you have naive persons and you wish to take advantage of them you could Still ask them personal questions and they could still answer and get into a precarious situation? For what I consider Obvious reasons, (not wanting to possibly get someone into a precarious situation), I have left off the name of the site. But please do share with me your thoughts about what I have been going on about.
