In your country you like to cook conserves and jams for winter time? Here, all the summer we try to achive a lot of conserves for winter, vegetables and fruits too.

i dont acutally make jam but my mom does from strawberries. we do however pick fresh fruit when its available. (we live in an amazing growing area!) and we freeze them to eat over the winter.

I live in FL so we dont really have a long and cold winter....I have never canned anything in my life...my mother did when we were groing up in IL...she did every summer and it got us through many cold winters. She would plant our own veggies and then can them...save a LOT of money doing it this way.

I always do jams at home and I give out a lot of them at Christmas time as presents. As for veggies, I prefer to freeze them; I feeel their flavour is better that way.

When I had more time I always made Jelly. I would make : cherry grape peach strawberry I always enjoyed making it but it was alot of hard work & quite a bit of money. I would make zucchini bread in the small loaf pan size and freeze it then give it as Christmas gifts. I always hoped everybody appreciated it.
